[Oni] get!

When I started this game, I never really knew what were the benchmarks for being considered a strong player. By the time I had established myself as a contender, I already had many of the elusive tokens and no great milestones to shoot for.

In January of this year, iironiic made a team called Debbie Downers, a team committed to playing anything and everything downscroll. I took up the challenge and played quite a bit to pull off my first downscroll FC, a 9-1-0-2 on Vertex BETA (which took quite a bit of time, nonetheless). After making the cut, I made a new user name to keep track of all of my downscroll scores, and I've been having the most fun I've had in a while playing like this, because I'm actually having issues on 11s/12s and I have something to work towards. I'm really happy, because I was probably a high D3 level player at the start of this, and I know I'm far beyond that now.

I apparently didn't take a screen/save a replay of my Air AAA (holy hell I was shaking after that one), not sure why. Also, I have been trying to push FGO FCs, but they aren't coming just yet. However, I am noticing significant improvements:

That Mourning the Lost might not seem like much, until you take into account that my previous score had more than double the goods/averages and quadruple the misses/boos, lmfao. I'm slowly getting the hang of reading really dense jumpstreams...

And finally, the whole reason that I made this thread:

For anyone else: these are downscroll scores (and I normally play upscroll). I've been taking downscroll a bit more serious as of late and I'm actually working on my stats on the other account whenever I can.

Does getting used to downscroll affect your upscroll? Nice one btw, it's harder than it looks to get used back to the whole thing again.

I have too much of an upscroll presence to really be affected by anything, thanks to ITG, DDR, PIU, etc. Downscroll is such a bitch to read though, haha.

HAHA, funny story about this; I actually managed to AA The Legend of Max on downscroll on Extra Stage and land an Encore Extra Stage, which is Dance Dance Revolution All-Stars played on Sudden Death (which has that horrible [14]-2-1 16th triplet) - get past all of that only to fail like three steps from the end on a damn gallop, lol. I did that at the East Coast meet-up, too

This is pretty cool, but it's just reading difficulty, right? You still have all your physical wristjacking and trilling abilities, which make the hard patterns a lot easier to nail. Still, congrats, I can't read downscroll at all.

Instead, I'd like to see you get [Oni] with semi- or even full pettanko
