Crossing the Line
border jumpers
Made something new. I think I suck though. http://soundcloud.com/thezeitgeistproject/crossing-the-line Soundcloud description: Can't say much about this, other than it's one of the only tracks I've produced that I've liked 90% of. I can change the drop a little bit, and the part BEFORE the drop. Maybe even add some melody after the drop, and make the drop happen again, but yeah, I like this one. EDIT: I changed a few things, but the link remains the same so yeah.

Re: Crossing the Line
the wub is a lot better than in the last track of yours I listened to, but I really don't like how it gets slightly unquantized, it's too overpowering all the time (some of the time is what you want) and the ending to the wub is an anticlimax

Re: Crossing the Line
Wow that drop really got me good. It's quite powerfu, and with a few volume tweaks, I think it'll be great!

Re: Crossing the Line
Not bad, but most of it seemed really abrupt. losing/gaining instruments, switches from full on bass to a lack thereof, etc. Maybe add in some kind of transition into the different things?

Re: Crossing the Line
I think it's too simple, it has very cut and dry segments. Don't be afraid to throw random sound bytes into the mix, cut and rewind, various effects. It sounds like a lot of effects I can do with my keyboard were added in one by one.
Sorry if that sounds at all harsh, I think the basis behind it is quite good, and I really like the drop (made me pretty happy in my pants in fact) but it definitely needs some pizzazz and some polish. Keep up the good work, I would like to hear a few revamps! Be brave, try new things <3 |

I'm horrible at transitions, and the drop could've been a little bit different (changing pitch during the really grindy part of the pattern, the ending of the drop could have sounded differently). But for the most part, I like the way it turned out, although there's obvious things that could've been done to it. Thanks for the feedback everyone.
