Re: DDReamStudio - Official Guide
I'm having trouble saving and opening files. For my first song that I submitted in the batch that just closed I only placed the beats in ddream studio and I actually made the stepfile in the stepmania editor so I didn't have this problem before.
I spent an entire day making a stepfile and saved it, and when I tried to open it again, it pops up with an error saying "I did not find a proper music file. I will start with a blank editor. You should verify the filename is correct and the audio is in the proper format and try again." It's not like I'm saving the file with a different name as the mp3, they're the same name. I made a whole new stepfile again yesterday and the same exact thing happened. I can go to the backup folder and open up the ds and dsx file for the completed stepchart and see all my work, but I can't actually open it. How am I able to open the file? |

the ds, dsx, and/or the .sm file must be in the same folder as the music file.
as such, if you ever need to restore a backup, go into backup, grab the version you want to restore, and put it in the same folder as the music. i wonder if anyone ever needed to restore a backup? or ever undid/redid an entire simming session using undo/redo just for fun?

Re: DDReamStudio - Official Guide
Just being able to start and stop the song with spacebar is selling point enough for me lol
I hate how Stepmania makes you go into some stupid menu just to listen to the song. The fact DDReam does a billion other crazy things in addition to having a control scheme that actually makes sense is just icing on the cake 8)

Re: DDReamStudio - Official Guide
Bump.
Does anyone know why AutoBPM doesn't detect sound anymore? It randomly stopped working for me. :/ |

Re: DDReamStudio - Official Guide
Bumping this kite, aight?
I made a video tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPPZgw7xmPc), I hope you guys like it. I added it to the OP for now. I sincerly never used AutoBPM so I can't quite help... isn't there a FAQ on their website for Troubleshooting? |

Re: DDReamStudio - Official Guide
Bump, added Jyris's demos from back in the day (: If anyone wants to try them out, it's a great way to test the techniques you've learned in the guide!

Re: DDReamStudio - Official Guide
looks great! thanks marionintendo for the remixes and banner
EDIT: if this thread is already stickied, why do people need to say "bump?" EDIT 2: @razor - check your sound card settings, if i remember, you may need to set the proper recording input/device, as autobpm (dont quote me) listens to the incoming audio stream.

Bump, however this is exactly what i was looking for, thank you!
EDIT: Did you delete his posts? or am i wrong and he didnt double post at all..? (ps. who cares if you gotta read a post from the same person twice, suck it up :/ It's obviously to help people out. It'd make sense if it was non-sense...)

Re: DDReamStudio - Official Guide
Stopping by to say, this is helping me tremendously. Syncing wise. Sure, there's some things in stepmania I like, or maybe I'm use too, but this takes the cake. I was so stubborn to not ever try this because "lulz, stepman editor is bettar". So much time wasted, when I could of been productive with this. Thanks Jryis for this!
