Bird-eating spider
A thread from the lands of the garbage bin was started - it showed this picture:
I figured maybe it was photoshopped -it seems like everything these days are, but it's not. There's also this picture, which puts the spotlight on another spider enjoying a helpless bird as its meal. I did some research and it turns out this spider is the Golden Silk Orb Weaver and its poison is not deadly to humans unless you're allergic. I just thought I'd carry this interesting topic over here. I never knew a spider that could eat birds, until now. EDIT: Here's the wikipedia link for those interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_silk_orb-weaver |

Re: Bird-eating spider
Random thing to bring up... XD I love spiders, have had one as a pet before and my ex-girlfriend has 2. Was considering picking up a goliath bird eating spider that my local pet shop had a few months ago, but ended up with a snake instead. Not that I'd have given it any big birds like that...

Yeah, I was also intrigued by that picture so I went to search it up myself.
There is another angle on this article I read about it: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/ear...on-camera.html |

Re: Bird-eating spider
I used to have a Theraphosa Blondi Goliath Birdeater back when I worked at an exotic pet shop. Spiders really shouldn't scare people as much as they do =/
