I mean, lately, it's possible to be casually talking about 2girls1cup on one's lunch break, and it's entirely plausible for someone to pipe up "Oh, I've seen worse" (the pain series) Not that that's per se gory, but it's close enough. Anyway. I could not on pain of death be a vegetarian. I have to smother chili in cheese, sour cream, and honey BBQ sauce, microwave it, and eat it in under 20 minutes 3 or more times a week. Is that why I'm a bit overweight? Yes. Do I actually give half a ****? No. Will most anything change that? No. I mean, you'd have to strap me into a chair and brainwash me to keep me from doing it. May God help me if my family reads this.

Re: Any vegetarians/vegans on FFR?
i've since then stopped referring to myself entirely as a vegetarian and just tell people i prefer not to eat meat when i can avoid it/when it would be rude not to (ie. if someone cooks it for me without knowing). the labels are kinda dumb and don't cover much grey area (plus i eat seafood maybe...once a month? if i'm at a multi-course meal or something).
my roommate similarly avoids meat unless theres a particularly interesting dish he's never tried before or something, and that's exactly how he explains himself to people haha

Re: Any vegetarians/vegans on FFR?
My girlfriend has been a vegetarian for more than 10 years, and I have to admit that she is relatively unhealthy. She suffers from terrible migraines, has random vomiting spells, is generally very pale, and her diet isn't exactly healthy. I believe if she has more protein and nutrition in her diet a lot of these problems would subside, but I"m not a doctor and it's really her decision.
Every vegetarian I have ever known has been significantly paler than my fellow meat eaters, and it has nothing to do with nationality or staying out of the sun. There is something lacking in their pigment. Unless you are really dedicated to providing your body with that extra protein, I think a lot of vegetarians go without more times than not.

Re: Any vegetarians/vegans on FFR?
Some vegetarians go vegetarian for moral reasons, not health reasons. Just because they are vegetarians doesn't make them any more health conscious than any other person and most likely won't go out of their way to make themselves shakes and take special vitamins.

Re: Any vegetarians/vegans on FFR?
what
i choose not to eat meat because of my personal, moral stance on the matter. i'm not claiming that all vegetarians are nutritionists and you don't have to be a goddamn health nut to understand =very basic= dietary needs. neither shakes nor ("special" lmao) vitamins are essential to good vegetarian health, its just an incredibly convenient alternative to stuffing your face with cashews from dawn to dusk

Re: Any vegetarians/vegans on FFR?
I always find it funny how some vegetarians eat eggs. They are so serious on this anti-animal abuse issue yet they seem to support the whole abortion issue. Of course you can be like, "Oh, well the eggs are unfertilized!" Well, it can still be considered abortion in the case where you think of the eggs as a possibility of life. Just my two cents, I don't want to start a flame war or get this moved to CT or anything.

Re: Any vegetarians/vegans on FFR?
I'm borderline vegetarian; I don't eat red meats and barely eat any chicken. I make up for that with TONS of fish which I'll never stop eating. It's not a decision based on how I feel about animals, it's really just the taste/texture. I've done plenty of research on substitutes and it's scary the amount that some vegetarians are missing.
