Post metal songs in this thread so I can have some new material to listen to.
I hate emocore ****, like attack attack etcetc, basically yelling, so don't post that garbage.
I'll post a few bands I like: All Shall Perish As I Lay Dying Alter Bridge(not metal but still awesome/sorta heavy) As Blood Runs Black Between The Buried and Me The Black Dahlia Murder Blind Guardian(power metal) Children of Bodom Circus Maximus(also power) Darkest Hour Devil Wears Prada DevilDriver Divine Heresy Dream Theater Fear Factory In Flames Job for a Cowboy Lamb of God Machine Head Masterplan(power metal) Mastodon Muse(not metal, but I enjoy them so you ccan also post **** similar to them) Nevermore(I ****ing love heavy ass guitar riffs) Pagan's Mind(power metal) The Project Hate MCMXCIX Protest the Hero Rhapsody of fire(also power metal) Shadows Fall The Sword Symphony X Tool(not metal, but still amazing) Trivium Unearth White****ingchapel When it comes to metal, I don't love tons of breakdowns, I like fast guitar riffs that blow your mind and then some badass breakdowns thrown in. Whitechapel is probably the heaviest thing I listen to and it's because I love the singer and the drummer, so anything that sounds like them I'll like, but it's been hard to find that. I hate bands like Suicide Silence and Despised Icon, their singers ruin everything.

If you don't like August Burns Red then I don't know what's wrong with you.
You might also like Blind Witness. I'll think of more later.

yea I heard that song fro ABR, they're pretty good.
His highs are sorta gay, but his lows sound sick. Blind Witness is terrible haha.

Yeah I actually came in here to suggest Miss May I. I really think you'd like them.
Basically everything else BethanyBangs just said too haha. And I don't know why you don't like Blind Witness that song has the sickest breakdown I've ever heard... "What the FUCK is going on!"

Van Canto. Also,This.
Epica. 3. Also, this. Porcupine Tree. Dream Theater, Dream Theater, and more dream theater. Although I don't really see how they can replace Portnoy. Yeah, I'm pretty much all about progressive metal/rock. |

Edit: Haha, I wouldn't be able to listen to Van Canto, and I dislike female singers/opera style singers.

AtToJ has a terrible ****ing singer, I hate highs like that. After the Burial has that sound to it that just doesn't interest me, Chelsea Grin is just 3 minutes of breakdowns every song, MC MB is basically just chugging, and the singer sounds like poo. Quote:
I love metal that punches you in the face when it's loud as ****. Like when you get shivers knowing a guitar solo is coming, or a an intense guitar riff is giving you an eargasm. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7Zhi7QWN2o @3:18 I get shivers everytime I hear it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbbzP...eature=related @2:40, this is one of my favorite solo's for some reason.

What about Parkway Drive? That song isn't their greatest but I haven't listened to them much.
You might also like Born of Osiris, they're pretty good live too. Probably not your style though =/

The World Alive = Gayest singer ever. HD,MR = just a bunch of noise. Darkness Dynamite = I ****ing hate pig squeals and thats all the singer does. Betraying the Martyrs is oookaay but not close to my type. Belie my Burial, probably the best one you've shown me so far. Al Hell Retreats, also not my kind of metal. Quote:
Carnifex is so damn annoying to listen to, ahhh my ears D: The Human Abstract, I don't understand the singer is so damn gay. Quote:

Disturbed's The Infection, The Night, Intoxication, and I'm Alive. These guys can have a serious breakdown like in Down with the Sickness, but they have great guitar. He also has a pretty good voice.

Cyanide, 'Broken, Beat and Scarred', and All Nightmare Long are incredible songs from there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUMqq...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciEIWAAyr24 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmCYd9lpxlE I hope you like them, they're my favorite bands. |
