Judging teams sound badass. Teams should consist of 3 people each, for that tiebreaker factor. So based off that I think we should have either 6 or 9 judges total. No need for more. 9 is an insane amount as it is but its ok considering the size of the batches

Group 1
Rebirth
bmah
wc

Group 2
Kommisar
NSane (no idea what he's like for a judge but he's kinda admining the batches and the game right now so......)
Gundam-Dude possibly

Group 3
jimerax
patashu
Someone else

That splits me, Kommisar, and jimerax into different groups. I feel that way, there will be more diverse judgments in each group. I know all 3 of us are pretty identical with how we look at files. 2/3 votes required to accept or reject a file officially. I recommend once we have gone through one judgment process with our portion of the batch, that all of us go over every accepted file again (really just the ones in the other two smaller batches) so we all can decide on what really will go into the game

Bluearrowll, I think all I've played from you is that one file you sent to SCP1, and it wasn't bad. If it's anything I think you are tied for the 4 people I can't decide upon, which include you, Trance Core, Leonid, and Rogdor. Wineandbread would be on my list but I don't think he's really judged anything before.

Just my 2 cents on the matter

edit: in response to you Rebirth, I think 12 is good. The reasons for previous batches taking so dang long are the sheer number of files. Having 4 teams split it up to 15-20 files per team (going with JX's estimated batch size) seems efficient. That's about the size of a small pack, and seems like a good number.

I've always considered FFR file judging to be for highly qualified people. I don't think I could name 12 people who are qualified enough for that

Something that I thought was working great for us on DF (just an opinion). There was myself, Halogen, and WC judging files. Now we were a bit more relaxed over there on some things but what was good about this team was you had WC who looked at the files from all technical aspects, then Halogen looked for technical errors but also looked at fun factor, I looked more at the fun/replayability factors, so I was kinda like the person looking at it more from a players point of view rather than just how "perfect" the file was made. (and I would reject for major mistakes of course)

I think teams like that would be great because then people are looking at them from all angles. If you put just straight up strict judges up there people may not enjoy the files as much. It's not just about all the technical stuff imo. But that was how we did it there and people seem to really enjoy most of the charts even if some have minor technical errors they were still fun and not so bad that they needed to be rejected.

Some of the slightly newer people have some different opinions though. That's why I suggest the more judges, but putting vets in with some of the newer LCs, so that every aspect of the file can be looked at and different opinions can be conceived.

Also you know that you, patashu, and I should be on the same team. Birthday twins etc

Oh, hey, I have that birthday too. Well, not the same year, but the same day... Does that count for anything? Haha...

Anyway, so I got multiple files I can send in, but I'll just send the four for now. Some easy files.

I think we should get permission for some Dubstep artists...
I personally love Dubstep, and it's basically the new "thing".
It would help the site, and make for more unique files.
Plus it adds a whole new genre into FFR, which would make it less boring.

btw, I still give FFR persmission to use my music, but I'm moving on from Newgrounds.
I'd like my Soundcloud to be used (It's for my newer/better songs)
Thanks

Stargroup is busy with school. Don't really see him around all that much anymore, except for an occasional post on KBO. Same reason why Moches doesn't have the spot.

It was a joke, by the way. What's Midare up to? I doubt he'd want to anyway...

I don't know of any other person besides moches that uses color notes as much as gundam and myself haha. The only people I can think of that would be qualified in my opinion to judge are behan, bluguerilla, hi19, and tasselfoot

If that's the case, then why is it that most of the SM stepartists consider FFR files to be crap? You "extremely qualified" people obviously aren't doing a good enough job as judges if you later consider the files total garbage.

I extremely dislike the fact that more than half of the people on the judging staff are huge Stepmania steppers, but have contributed nothing (or extremely little) to FFR. I'm sorry, but putting a ton of SM steppers to judge FFR files is stupid, because the file structures for both charts are completely different. FFR's lack of freezes causes lots of extra colors, drum n' bass charts tend to have extremely fast bursts, and the overall layering is different. The more prolific artists FROM FFR should be considered, not those who have absolutely no files in game but are "light chancellors" or "dark chancellors". I don't care who the hell you are, if you have no experience stepping charts for FFR itself, you really shouldn't be judging for them either.

Now I know that certain people have judged before, and they did a good job. Kommisar has a few files in game, and did a great job as a file judge - Patashu has a decent amount as well. And well, Rebirth has an ass-load too, so he's fine.

As for the rest of these people, you shouldn't let them judge with absolutely no files in the game whatsoever.

The teams idea is alright, but it also assumes that everyone is going to be active, because it seems like the teams are split up in terms of style judgment (some are technical judges, some are fun factor, others sit in between). I'm all for getting multiple opinions, but there's nothing to ensure that all of these judges will do their job.

Aside from my issues, I guess the people within the teams Kory has posted is alright...there's two people I don't agree with being on the panel.

EDIT: +1000000000000000 for behanjc being added if we can find him again

I do agree though. FFR files have to be set up differently than SM files, due to the lack of holds and mines, as well as the lack of general options (no distant mode >=|)
Debit, who do you disagree with? We probably should get all of this out now so we can figure out who should and shouldn't judge.

Exactly this.. there are sooooooo many generic / bland files in FFR..

Same **** all over again..

But then again, there aren't that many options to play with in FFR (no holds, no mines, no real customizable features besides speed mods.. but even that's limited to 1.5x~2.25x at the most..)
