Re: adopt a stepman
Yeah. But times where the vocals are used as more of an instrumental sound are also good moments to step it. I'm pretty sure t+pazolite songs do that a lot.

Re: adopt a stepman
I also tend to step vocals in every file I make. It actually aggravates me a bit when the vocals are not represented.
And oops I completely forgot about this thread. Like I said way earlier take me off as an adopter for Mine Theory 101, seeing as though I actually know nothing of Mine Theory whatsoever. And is OWA REALLY the only other applicant for Intro to Solo? Come ON people, we need some more solo stepartists.

Re: adopt a stepman
mine theory:
mines are used to add tension to a file. there are four basic ways mines can be used; before notes, to throw you off about hitting them, after notes to make you jumpy, beside notes to make you careful about them, and scattered around to produce visual obscurity and general tension at things requiring more effort to read. you want to use mines during points in a song that are naturally tense or awkward. examples can be sudden silences, abrupt changes in how the song is proceeding or additions, stutters and choppiness, ominous sounds like winds (see croquel pt 1). a different way to use mines, however, is to pretend to layer another sound or instrument; for instance, itg's summer speedy mix and tell have mines accenting certain cymbal crashes in the song.

Re: adopt a stepman
me neither. just 5 or so mines does it for me.
Hey, is 800 taps to 300 mini holds too great of a ratio? The holds consist of 192nd holds which represent cymbal crashes, but Other than that, they go to instrumental holds. |

Re: adopt a stepman
When there is one 8th in a continuous 16th stream (i.e. the stream does go on after the 8th), I like to put a quadmine in that open 16th.
