Re: Challenge Rubix
My Breekan account has been logged in for...
4 days, 1 hour, and 46 minutes straight. Soooooooooooooooooooooo... lol stargroup. Somehow I have this suspicion that he actually DOESN'T have a solution for the problem and is seriously just trying to get someone to solve it for him for school or something, lol (that one post of his on the front page is REALLY suspicious). I give you hint: Why don't you look at the basic concept of what a derivative is (graphically, even)? The underlying logic there will help you figure out what this problem is asking you. Easy method if you don't get it: Uh, just look at it, man. There's one thing in particular that's a dead giveaway.

Re: Challenge Rubix
ok time to come clean
I composed this problem I have 2 different methods so far and both don't involve derivative I tried calculus but no matter how I did it it didn't work. if you can figure out a way to it using calculus please share and if you don't have any other methods then I'll show my work also what, Breekan? you gave me a different aim so I had no idea you were online

Re: Challenge Rubix
I can defend for his legitness..
The question in the OP was a different one when stargroup first posted it. I found the problem weird, and asked stargroup on MSN for the solution and it wasn't correct. So I told him to fix the problem so that his method works, and that problem in OP now is the fixed version. |

Re: Challenge Rubix
ok seriously it's time to stump rubix now
1a. What is the maximum amount of spheres of 1 cm radius that can fit in a sphere of radius 5.5 cm? 1b. Similar to the above problem, except how many HEMIspheres of 1 cm radius can you fit in the larger sphere?
