No one on ffr can step a song properly
Is there any other site (besides bemani style) that knows how to at least line up their arrows? seriously if i were to go to the simfile page, and randomly click on any sim, there is a 99% chance that it will either be off-sync or another impossible dump file. (or just a boring inconsistent dump file).
Iv'e got all the regular megapacks and nearly AA'ed every hard song in each of them (i left what looks like easier sims alone). just to prove that i'm not some random noob posting for his first time complaining about "hard" files here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6-sjdlgOVc now if anyone can please make references, or alert me when ffr stops being such a sucky ass noob website for simfiles, i would greatly appreciate it. oh and i got banned from odi so don't tell me to go there. |

1% of the stepmania community in general can make good files, so don't get your hopes up in the immense trash that is simfile database.

2.) Just because you can make files well doesn't mean that you can complain about others being badly--like I said, if it is such a problem to you, then make your own. 3.) FFR actually has good steppers, but going to the Simfile DB is the biggest mistake you can do. A few of the good steppers from ODI make steps here too, go back to ODI. Oh wait. |

Right? Yeah, sorry, but it doesn't work that way. Crap is crap, and anyone who is releasing their crap to a community is going to hear about it from that community, regardless of who in the community can or cannot make stepfiles. As a stepfile artist, releasing your content means you are putting it out for criticism. Everybody has the right to criticize. Or are you so white a knight that you never say a bad thing about anyone else's art because you can't make a production in the same field? Quote:
You don't do a mistake, you make one. Good point though, the simfile DB is trash.

e: as far as simfile making goes I wouldn't really compare it to making a movie or picking up an instrument, lol. it's not anywhere near as sophisticated

Re: No one on ffr can step a song properly
It's my opinion about the community, i'm not pointing fingers at anyone. In my opinion Bemani sucks also.
but all i was asking for (in an abrupt fashion) is where to find better simfiles. |

Re: No one on ffr can step a song properly
In packs.
You don't really go to a database and expect good files. It's like going to a fanfic site and expecting good literature; any stooge is allowed to upload their content, and most people either completely miss the point, or understand it and still suck ass. Now, in my opinion, a lot of packs have some really ****ty files too. I don't know why everyone thinks kommisar can step, foot fungus can step better than he can (oops there's my honest opinion guess I'm trolling now). And he's not the only "prolific stepfile artist" I dislike. A lot of bad **** plagues packs too, but they're still your best bet for finding good stepfiles because they have SOME type of judging (is your file dumpy enough, etc). That's cool bro, neither would I, in fact where did I compare them? I was making a point that you shouldn't have to be an artist in order to judge art. Everyone has an opinion of something - movies, books, games, stepfiles - even if they don't create those things themselves. To say you have to submit content in order to have an opinion about it was just dumb, that's all I was saying. I wasn't ****ing comparing them.

try out some simfile packs (easiest way to get many simfiles), but you have to find good sims for you from what you've downloaded after all. |

It's not pointless, but i guess your right about the misleading title, and i do sincerely appologize.
tell me what sims are good/hard in that case (Midare's are kinda fun lolz) |

Re: No one on ffr can step a song properly
First off... bashing a site and community when leading off trying to ask for assistance is generally a bad idea. People don't like it when you trash them and then want their help. Being nice is almost always a better course of action.
Second... lol at being banned from ODI. That's beyond comment. Third... you'll be hard pressed to find a better, larger, more talented, and more helpful SM community than here. So I wouldn't advise alienating yourself before you even have a shot of being accepted. If you have issues with our community, good luck being happy anywhere in the SM world. Fourth... the Simfile DB is unmoderated. Anyone can upload any file they have created. So, naturally, the files will suck more often than not. That's just a fact of life. Complaining about it is worthless. Clearly you already have the vast majority of packs... in fact, you probably have too many. No point having that many, seems like it'll just slow your SM down big time. Fifth... while the files added to FFR are not flawless (and older blue-note files are generally quite bad), they do undergo a fairly intensive judging process before they are accepted and eventually added to the game. GL finding a more quality selection of simfiles in one place than within FFR. Sixth... welcome.

Hes a noob first of all for getting songs from the simfile DB. Who does that? Go to the forums for serious stuff... all the noobs throw songs in simfile DB because they feel like it. Btw, go play Zagh's files in simfile DB. They will be out of sync aswell It's just the way the site was set up, dl them and stop crying. Btw, lol @ Scarhand fail.

Sup Icyworld
Anyway, funny how you're getting hated on. Just ignore 'em. The only files you really need are HSMP 1 - 7 and Midare 1 - 4. The others are dumb unless you want to do rates. As for video, you should've linked them to your Chik Habit pass. That'll shut everyone up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRD6GLkif6o Quote:
Rather than writing an essay, mind updating the unrecorded scores? I want my WorldTour2008 score, thanks.
