I bought a Geo Metro
Found the car on craigslist in San Jose, the asking price was $600, not sure why it was so low, so I was skeptical. We called the guy, and he said it was in great running condition, no problems inside and out, ran strong. So we decided, well....what the hell, lets go look at it. San Jose is about an hour and a half away.
We get there and test drive it. It starts kinda rough, but other than that the engine purrs, the only problems I found with the car after looking it over for about 45 minutes, was that the drivers side door handle gets stuck alot and wont open from the outside, which is a quick 5 minute fix, and the E-brake light always stays on....and the car is teal...I hate teal. I made up some bs about the rough start on the car, about how the carburetor is sticking and will need to be replaced soon, so he dropped the price down to $450. I'm about 95% sure it just needs a new set of spark plugs, not a carburetor rofl. Made the sale at $450, pink slip in hand. Drove it home a good 70 miles. It was smooth despite it being such a lightweight car, the transmission is flawless and shifts through all 5 gears seamlessly, and for being a 1 liter, 3 cylinder, 55 horsepower car, it actually gets up and goes much faster than I had expected. The car has an 8 gallon gas tank, and gets up to about 52mpg highway, 42 city. I've been looking for one of these for quite a while, never found any for under a grand or so, especially in this condition, just thought it was a great buy so I had to go for it. Wonder how big of a turbo I can put on it xD |

Re: I bought a Geo Metro
Because the 3000GT gets 8-12mpg
More horsepower = less gas mileage. |

My mom use to drive a Geo... I hated that thing, the air-conditioner never worked.

We used to have a Geo when I was little. My dad could barely fit into the thing. Ours was red.

Since when is 50+mpg useless? I'm tired of the 3000gt sucking up so much gas, when I was a delivery driver for Dominos, I only drove maybe 50-70 miles a night, and had to put in $20-$25 in gas every single work shift. |
