Ok, so i'm playing ddr at putters (local arcade). I'm doing Drop out on heavy, and during the jumps i start raping the bar. These guys that are really good (like omfg psmo good) were like OMG. WAY TO GO. RAPE THE HELL OUT OF THAT BAR. One guy was like, dude, dont rape the bar. He said that we had to play LoM next (heavy of course) and you CANT use the bar. I'm like sure, because he also said that he'd pay for it if i got through without QUITTING (not dying, quiting) and not using bar. He also said if i used the bar his friends would get to hit my hands. I agreed and got 30 seconds into the song, died. I was like omfg this sucks i want to quit because i'm tired but then he failed. His friends were like, omfg you must have practiced, you almost did as good as him. I was like yay.

It was fun.

Also, Jake, you couldn't pass LoM? I thought you was super 1337. I suppose you're just normal kind of 1337.

PS I'm getting Max2 and a pad for Christmas, so don't worry about me having never played DDR. I'm just too poor to go to the arcade and blow all my cash on a game. Although that's exactly what I did for THUG2 and Pokemon FireRed. hmm... It seems I've begun rambling so I guess I'm going to end this post now.

At the moment, I'm trying to learn to pass Max 300 w/out the bar. Somewhere in the middle (I had failed, but I was playing with a friend), I stopped using the bar. Got a combo of about 140. Me = better w/out bar. The only problem: you get tired faster. Also, if you got 30 seconds into LoM without bar, you should be able to beat Drop Out without the bar.

I can do drop out without bar, i just wanted a good score.

I never use the bar...ever...but I suck, so that isnt saying much.I look down on those who do use the bar...no matter what reason. The bar was not designed for people to hold onto in order to pass a level (or get a good score).

On the contrary, that's most of the reason of the bar. It helps keep the balance of the player. However, I must say, I look down on people who use it for standard levels, or 7 step heavy songs.

wow i must have whored DDR alot more then i thought i did, within a 4 month period i went from beating nothing on heavy to B'ing max 300 home version with a shitty pad and A'ing at an arcade, no bar used

I'd never use the bar unless it was Jacks (god i need it for balance) Or lots of jumps.

Or really hard songs.
