Anyone watch the pommel horse final last night? Such a shame that Artemev fell near the end. His routine was probably the only one in the whole games that was actually exciting to watch.

Gold medal-worthy.

They just aired the women's uneven bars for Gymnastics.

Nastia did better. The judges made it a tie. Tie went to the Chinese girl.

Simon Whitfield silver in Triathlon for all you Canadians out there! (Among the 2 other silvers today by Equestrian Team (in a tiebreak with U.S.A. :O) and in Women's Trampoline.

EDIT: Yea, also saw that uneven bars event final and it seemed pretty rigged.
Personally I think sticking the landing should either be a small bonus, or the steps/hops should be bigger deductions, because obviously by the very few stuck landings, it's apparently exceedingly difficult, whereas you can lose way more points through random tiny form errors, which aren't exceedingly difficult among themselves, but simply accumulate.

What I also don't understand is how they thought the Chinese girl who got bronze was better than the Brit who got 4th.

I was watching some of the Women's marathon, it's amazing how people can run 2 1/2 hours nonstop. The weather at that time was perfect for the runners; it wasn't smoggy, it was just overcast, and the temperature was in the 70's. Romania, Kenya, and China came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The US was 27th :/. That's because Deena Kastor dropped out. She was holding her ankle when she went to the side.

That's not a controversy. That's just another stupid news article that you love posting.

"The rules say this" versus "Judges from countries who have never produced a Gymnastics Olympian are significantly boosting scores of seemingly underage Chinese girls who have a lot more mistakes in their less-impressive routines."

Are you laughing at me or are you laughing at the sentence?

Perhaps you should actually watch the Olympics. I'm not the only one saying these things. EVERYONE IS.

Edit: Late, but still. Here's an article with all the concerns. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concern...ts_controversy

Didn't the 200m final actually already happen? Apparently Usain bolt got a world record of 19.30. And he was insane at 100m O__________O

NBC doesn't air everything live. His race was a little over three hours ago, but they don't start showing Olympic events until primetime during weekdays. It'll be on tonight.

It was a weird-ass race too.

China is in some deep **** now. The IOC has ordered an investigation on He Kexin's age. If He Kexin is underage, she may be stripped of all of her golds. Bad for China, good for the USA.
