That's cal II stuff. Well, it could be cal I, but I learned trig substitution in cal II. I took that first semester of my first year of college.
And yeah, I'm always up for helping with homework in whatever way I can. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

Heh, math majors at SMU coincide very nicely with ME majors. The sooner I get classes out of the way, the sooner I can take the more advanced maths.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say I wouldn't get any help on differential equations (first order for now).

I took DiffEQ last semester and loved it. Try me. I still have the book and everything.

Tassel, your problem is unsolvable.
First, that function has no antiderivative. This wouldn't be a problem, except the function also has no value at your upper bound, or anything greater than 2. It's kind of hard to find the area under the curve when there is no curve. |

Okay, I finally decided to put it into my calculator, and it seems that it is unsolvable, and I was just kidding myself about being able to back-substitute. But, to your credit, Tassel, you did just make it up.
EDIT: It's just your bounds that are bad. The function explodes before you get to 2pi/3. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

Diff Eqs isn't all that hard (yet), it's just that I have a Russian teacher and haven't been paying attention. What all have you taken math-wise Guido?

That wasn't as specific as I was hoping for. I've had Calc I, II, Multivariable, and now DiffEq.
Never just randomly make up a calc problem.
