one way that seems to work with pikachu, is to grab onto the edge , then do down b, hits the guys on the side , jump back up to ledge and keep doing it over, but its kind of hard to do |

Cruel Brawl:
Jigglypuff. Three jumps underneath the stage to other side. Ledge. Drop, repeat. You'll soon learn what kind of motions lure the guys to drop off the side and follow you despite not being able to get to you. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I remember I did cruel on melee with peach. Lure them (easy since she floats) and get under a platform, d-smash until their percents are above 50% and then f-air them to death. I think I got around 25? Takes a lot of practice though.

He means the gold hammers you use to open challenge windows without actually working for them.
Also, I got 11 in Cruel Brawl using Jiggs and going under the ledge over and over again. I just let myself die after that.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
How can you use a golden unlock hammer to rack up 10 kills in cruel brawl?
You can unlock the "10 kills in cruel brawl" challenge with a golden hammer, but you can't get 10 kills in cruel brawl with a golden hammer. Oh, the power of punctuation. Nobody believed me when I said it was necessary. In your face. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Go to Challenges and look at the bottom of the screen for gold hammer symbols.
Every now and then (usually after completing certain tasks) you earn a Golden Hammer which you can use to break a window of your choosing without having to fulfill the requirements shown on it. Apparently, it doesn't work on ALL windows but it works on most. http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamem...various22.html Explains it all here Also, I just realized the Challenge system is derived from Kirby Air Ride. I just got Air Ride last week and saw it and went "oh...". Also, I saw the distinct similarities in terms of menu design between Air Ride and Brawl (and also Melee to an extent). Oh HAL, you rambunctious scamps, you.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Master Hand is from Kirby Superstar. The concept of Trophies is from Kirby Superstar. The platforming elements of SSE are from Kirby Superstar. Odd little mini-game concepts like home-run contest and targets are based on the mini-game concepts of Kirby Superstar.
Pretty much everything except the characters are based on Kirby games |

What a big ripoff. Just kidding, the game is still awesome. They just expanded on the Kirby games, if you can call it that. CBR Now tell me guys which one should I break? I have 2 golden hammers remaining |

Squeek thinks Kirby games are fighters. In all seriousness, did the idea of living statues/dolls/figurines/trophies really come from Kirby in the first place?

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Masahiro Sakurai, the lead developer for Brawl, also created Kirby. That's why there are so many similarities.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
In Kirby Superstar, you collected trophies in a game called the Great Cave Offensive, but they were just for collective purposes. I don't recall any statues/inanimate objects coming to life.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I've known about the Kirby Super Star stuff for a while. I just found the challenge system being almost identical to Air Ride's to be somewhat amusing.
You forgot to mention that they took the lobby music from All-Star in Melee from the Great Cave Offensive's save room. All the gang fights in SSE are similar to the various fights against the Meta-Knights in Kirby's Adventure and Super Star. Drop-through floors have been in Kirby games since the beginning, probably why they're used in Smash. The Jyk's in SSE are just Gordos with a different look. Master/Crazy Hand wasn't in Super Star, but Wam Bam Rock is decidedly similar enough to think that MH was heavily inspired by him. They practically have the same attacks (or similar attacks at the very least). Also, the only minigames in Super Star were the Samurai one (which is based on Kirby's Adventure's Quick Draw game) and Megaton Punch, neither of which bare any similarity to the minigames in Smash. You didn't collect trophies, but you collected treasures that were similar in nature to those in Smash, particularly because they usually came from various other Nintendo games. It's a bit of a stretch, but I guess you could call the ability icons from Super Star trophies in a way. Ridley and Meta-Ridley in SSE behave a lot like Dyna Blade. Tabuu reminds me of Marx with his quick warping and his giant laser.

Ducky has the rest. Go play Kirby Superstar. In particular, The Great Cave Offensive. Tell me if you don't see a story-less SSE. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
By the way, I heard they're remaking Super Star for DS.
Off-topic, I know, but I felt like posting it because KSS is in my top 5 SNES games. Best Kirby game IMO.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Ok so I lack creativity.
I needed custom stages to get the 5-stage challenge unlock. I made a small one that was a box with a small opening at the top. Basically I just proved that Marth's Final Smash isn't a 1HKO. It does 100% damage, yes, but it can't kill you if you stay inside the stage. Sure, he bounced around and hit 6 walls before coming to a stop, but still! It's not a 1HKO! Proof! |
