It's got the generic indie film style to it, the same style that Garden State had. The feelings I got from those films are the same lovely feelings I got if I jammed my face into a paper shredder.

Definitely, but I can also say with 80% confidence that it will not win based on the fact that it is a comedy. Then again, I've hated the Academy Awards ever since they awarded Crash Best Picture in 2005. That ruined everything for me, because I thought that movie was a stereotypical waste of life, and that either Capote or Brokeback deserved to win more. Alas, I still pay attention to them, because I am a typical TV whore.

Anyway, back to Juno: you should watch it. Don't be thrown off by any strange language they use. It's just hilarious, and they stop using it as the situation matures.

My best movies for the year: Juno, Rocket Science
My worst movie for the year: Norbit

it basically brought more reality and maturity to the situation of teenage pregnancy/premarital sex.... movies like superbad/knocked up were somewhat more of a mockery of it.

i personally think every pregnant teenage girl should go see that movie...

it was very entertaining for me :]

That wasn't nearly as bad as when Chicago won in 2003...that movie is atrocious and terrible.

Hmm, well I never saw Chicago as a movie, only in musical format, so I wouldn't be able to say. Gangs of New York and The Pianist were great movies though.

It's not very often that I just come out and say "You're contributing to not only the decline of modern cinema, but the average national IQ," but this is just one of those cases.

Pray tell sammo123, where would you place Transformers on the list, if not at number 50?

I really don't think 3:10 to Yuma should be number four. That movie was ridiculous, even though it is a remake.

For a Western-movie it just didn't really do any justice to the genre. Ben Wade's character didn't make any sense other than "Oh, life of crime? I've been changed, praise the Lord. You changed my entire view on life Batman, let's have sex since you're a cripple." Ridiculous.

That's actually a pretty solid list for me. However, I would switch the 1 and 2 spots. Atonement had so much depth to it and I really think it deserves to win best picture.

I would put transformers like 6th and i would put number 1 to 50.

Juno can stay where it is cuz that was a descent movie, but that movie Atonement must have been so bad that they didn't even put it in my 16 theatre cinema
