Re: RFpack Released!
Feels strange to review my own pack but here I go. Note that I will almost never give a 10/10 to any simfile
And Then We Kiss: 5.5/10 Really only kept this in the pack in hopes that people wouldn't bitch about so many hard files Atmos Break: 8/10 Pretty fun belladonna: 9/10 It was really fun imo but I didn't like the minijacks (even though they do go to the music). One of my favorites in the pack BF2014: 9/10 I can't believe we accepted a sharpnel simfile but this was holy **** fun Border of Maximum: 8/10 Pretty fun, maybe a little bland but I don't know. I don't like to rate my own files Brain Storm: 8/10 Such a weird simfile, but I like it Comfort Betrays: 8.5/10 I thought it was pretty damn fun despite being a little repetitive Demons Carnival: 9/10 The solo version is better but this was really nicely converted Dick Jazz: 9.5/10 pitch relevancy layering etc. Probably the most accurately stepped file in the pack Enigma: 8.5/10 I liked it. The ending 30 seconds are a bitch though envelope: 9.5/10 I ****ing love this file. It might seem a little overlayered with the calm style onoken does but it was really fun. Might be my pack favorite Faith is for the Transient People: 7.5/10 It was ok. Flowtation: 6.5/10 for fun, 9/10 for simfile accuracy I put this into the pack at the very last minute because exige submitted it at the last minute. I remember being told its supposed to resemble the IIDX chart for the song Gekkou: 8/10 Simple I guess. I thought it came out pretty fun (I honestly thought it'd suck when I first finished it) Go Beyond: 8/10 Crazy file. I don't really like the hands but thats because I suck at them. Otherwise this file is cool Hunter's Etude: 9/10 I really only played this once so far, but it seems pretty damn good from what I saw. Yay for someone else thats able to sync piano music Hyper Exige: 7/10 Another one of those files I kept in here in hopes of that nobody would bitch about too many hard files Inscrutable Battle: 7.5/10 I thought it was alright. Couple fun spots, couple dull spots Jungle: 8/10 Song is really cool, but I didn't like parts of the steps. Overall its still pretty nice Kamaitaichi: 7.5/10 don't know what to say for this file Kaze no Shi: 8/10 8/10 because I enjoyed the rhythms even though they were repetitive kicks!: 9/10 pretty nicely stepped but lol at the simple freeze part in the first half of the file Maid's Pocket Watch of Blood: 10/10 I didn't like some of the 24th triplets in between the jumps on the 4ths and stuff but thats just because I suck at this game. It was an extremely nice file and stepped just about perfectly Mellann: 8.5/10 Kinda simple xmod file. I like it Memories: 8/10 wapanese backstreet boys etc. Reminds me of Love Fighter from back in the days of Keyboard Collaboration 3 Nanairopanda: 9/10 Thought it was really fun most of the time. Might be a few spots that suck, I don't know. I stepped it because I found tons of errors in stargroup's version in FFR Not Again: 9.5/10 I'm not too big of a fan of these guitar solo sims but it was really nicely stepped, as are all of glove's guitar/metal sims Piano Forte: 9.5/10 It was really fun despite being jimerax's first SM file in like 2 years or something Poodle: 8.5/10 I liked the simplicity of this file and how it managed to keep my attention the whole way through. Red Lucifer Rising: 10/10 It probably is Dew's best file to date. Its hard, but its awesome Rescue!: 9/10 I had recently gone through a night where I randomly watched all 3 Pirates of the Caribbean movies in a day for some reason, so I was really liking how this was a pirate song thing rofl. Very nicely stepped Rock'n Rocks: 10/10 Just about perfect for this song. The ending is awesome Scarlet in the Dream: 10/10 Just awesome. lol beginner steps but they're actually cool too Second Heaven: 8.5/10 I've always liked this file Setsujou! Hyakka Ryouran!: 8.5/10 Originally started stepping this for SMGpack 2 but I never finished because I took a break from SM that year. I was going for the first SMGpack to have the first OP of the anime, and the second pack to have the second OP (this is the second OP). It didn't happen, so its in this pack. Pretty fun file I guess. I like a lot of it Tribe Attacker: 8/10 Another sim we accepted in the last days of the pack. Necros made it into a pretty nice sim U.N.O.N: 9.5/10 Its really hard and may be repetitive but I thought it was really fun. Awesome simfile. I've had it for like a year lmao Overall rating for the pack: 8.25/10 |

Re: RFpack Released!
stop defending it lmao. If you've got 24ths and crap down and they aren't supposed to be there they're errors. The 24ths might go to the music, I don't know, but they're errors because it makes the file flow like crap
and u btr meen gud by ridiculous ending edit 4 stargroup: I liked it until I played it for the 3rd or 4th time. Then I really noticed crap Last edited by Rebirth0; 01-6-2008 at 10:19 PM.. |

Man, this pack is so sick. My favourites are atmos break and BF2014. These two files are awesome, the rest of the pack is sweet from what i've played. Im gonna go finish playing it now.

Re: RFpack Released!
Took me to long to play everything.
SUPER REVIEWS! And Then We Kiss File: 6/10 - Meh... I did almost AAAA sightread, though, that was cool. gfx: 8/10 - Hai Britney. Song: 3/10 - wtf is a Britney Spears song doing in here?! Atmos Break File: 9/10 - Fun. Good for practicing jumpstream. gfx: 8/10 - Abstract stuff with cool text... whatever you call that effect? How do you get the text to have that effect anyway? Song: 8.5/10 - I don't know why, but this song kind of amuses me. Belladonna File: 9.5/10 - Excellent. I swear this is the first file I've played by you that isn't saturated with holds. gfx: 5/10 - Some chick on her knees; the image is pixelated. I'm not really a fan of banners that are half black. Song: 9/10 - Excellent, like the file. BF2014 File: 8.5/10 - I don't like it as much as some people, but it was pretty cool, especially for Sharpnel. gfx: 7.5/10 - Is that a random anime chick, or does she actually have something to do with the song? Song: 7.5/10 - Sharpnel's inconsistent for me. This song was pretty cool. Border of Maximum File: 8/10 - Pretty fun, some spots seemed bland though. gfx: 8/10 - They fit nicely. Song: 9/10 - Cool song. Brain Storm File: 9/10 - Great file, nothing else. gfx: 10/10 - rofl, they're perfect. Song: 5.5/10 - Not really my style of music. Comfort Betrays File: 9/10 - I actually liked this a bit more then your other file, but that's just me. gfx: 7/10 - They work fine. Song: 6/10 - I like metal, but I don't really like screaming. I wish they would sing a little instead of screaming the whole song. Demons Carnival File: 9.5/10 - Never played the solo chart, but this was awesome. gfx: 7.5/10 - Some guy... I have no idea who he is or what he does, but it works. Song: 9/10 Dick Jazz File: 10/10 - Such a well made file... if only it was longer. gfx: 0/10 - Shoulda used the original graphics Song: 9.5/10 - Such a great song... Enigma File: 9/10 - Fun, especially the end!!!!!1!1 gfx: 8/10 Song: 6/10 - I actually don't like the song, but anything that progressively speeds up is awesome. envelope File: 9/10 - Best 90 BPM file I've ever played. gfx: 9.5/10 - They fit perfectly, and look great. Song: 9/10 - Very peaceful, and soothing. Faith is for the Transient People File: 8.5/10 - I liked it quite a bit, actually. gfx: 6.5/10 - They just seem slightly lacking. Song: 9/10 - I like pretty much all Touhou. Flowtation File: 6/10 - Nothing special. gfx: 7/10 - I guess they're alright. Song: 6/10 - Same as above. Gekkou File: 8/10 - Don't know what to say about this. It was enjoyable, but it isn't anything outstanding. gfx: 7/10 - They work. Song: 7.5/10 - Decent song. Go Beyond!! File: 8.5/10 - Great, now I have like 5 files for this, thanks. Can't say whether I like this more then Patahu's... gfx: 8/10 - They're nice, they fit. Song; 7/10 - I'm starting to get sick of this song... Hunter's Etude File: 10/10 - Best piano file ever, oh my god. gfx: 7.5/10 - Abstract stuff. I wish the text in banner was a bit more visable though. Song: 10/10 - ****ING PIANO. Hyper Exige File: 6.5/10 - Some parts seemed pretty boring, and weren't very fun. Alright, I guess... gfx: 8/10 Song: 8/10 - Trying to think of what this reminds me off... Inscrutable Battle File: 7.5/10 - Did seem a little bland at points, but still well polished. gfx: 8/10 Song: - 9/10 - Awesome. Sounds a lot like RPG music. Jungle File: 8/10 - Something about it didn't appeal to me, but it's not bad or anything. gfx: 8/10 - They are what the song says: Jungle. Song: 8/10 - Pretty cool, especially if it's a demo, lol. Kamaitachi File: 8/10 - Gee, I kinda liked this. gfx: 7/10 - Some abstract stuff, with crazy text. Song: 7.5/10 Kaze no Shi File: 8/10 - Seemed kind of repetitive at times. Still a good file though. gfx: 8.5/10 - They fit excellently, Song: 8.5/10 - Beginning sounds oddly familiar, as if something was a remix of this. Kicks File: 9/10 - Very cool. Dunno what else to say. gfx: 8/10 - Some chick lounging in a chair. They look nice. Song: 7/10 - Alright. Maid's Pocket Watch of Blood File: 9.5/10 - Some things in Challenge really pissed me of, but Heavy made up for it. Great file, but I'm not giving it a 10 because it pissed me off =( gfx: 8.5/10 Song: 9/10 - Touhou. Mellann File: 10/10 - This file is awesome, holy ****. gfx: 7.5/10 - Some lake, and mountains, and stuff. They work. Song: 8/10 - Despite it annoying me, I still like it. Memories File: 9/10 - Surprisingly awesome; very unique. gfx: 8/10 Song: 8.5/10 - Why the hell do I like this, rofl? Nanairopanda File: 9.5/10 - So freaking fun. My favorite Rebirth file in here. gfx: 10/10 - HAHAHAHA! Great. Song: 8.5/10 - Not my favorite OSTER song, but I still like it. Not Again File: 9/10 - Some parts were just to slow stepwise, but it's still a great file. gfx: 7/10 - They get the job done. Song: 7.5/10 - I'm not the biggest Shawn Lane fan, but it's a pretty good song. Piano Forte File: 10/10 - Holy crap, I've played this thing like 100 times already. I love it, love it, love it. Damn, this file is awesome. Make more SM files jx. gfx: 7.5/10 - Abstract stuff. It works. Song: 10/10 - See "File". Poodle File: 8.5/10 - Not to complicated, but really fun. Good mine usage, as with most of Necros' files. gfx: 7/10 - Simple abstract stuff. It works. Song: 8/10 - Such a happy song... Red Lucifer Rising File: 10/10 - wtf, this file is awesome. Probably my favorite S.H.H. File ever. Great job, wow. gfx: 9.5/10 - Excellent, well made graphics. Song: 9.5/10 - S.H.H. Rescue! File: 10/10 - Holy crap, I love this file. I could whore it all day. My gosh, dondon is a freaking simfile god. gfx: 10/10 - Extremely well made, and they fit the song perfectly. Song: 10/10 - Damn, this song is awesome. Everything about this file is awesome. 10/10 for the entire file, probably my favorite file in the pack. Rock'n Rocks File: 9.5/10 - Loved it. I remember when I used to hate Yesssss' files, lol. But that was before I knew any better. gfx: 9/10 - See above two files. Song: 8.5/10 Scarlet in the Dream File: 10/10 - dondon = win. gfx: 7.5/10 - Text in banner is kinda lacking to text in bg. Song: 9/10 - Jazzy, swingy, awesome. Second Heaven File: 8.5/10 - A lot like Poodle, haha. gfx: 7/10 - Clouds. Nothing special, but they fit the song. Song: 9/10 - One of my favorite Ryu* songs. Setsujou! Hyakka Ryouran File: 8/10 - Some spots just weren't appealing, sorry. Otherwise, fun. gfx: 8.5/10 - I guess they're nice. Song: 8.5/10 - Mosaic.wav is way to catchy. Grrr... Tribe Attacker File: 8/10 - Good, despite it being a bad song. gfx: 7.5/10 - Abstract stuff, blah blah... Song: 4/10 - This song annoys me. U.N.O.N. File: 8/10 - Yeah, it is kind of hard. Good file and all, but I can't see myself actually enjoying this. I like jacks, but only to an extent. 9.5/10 for the file, and 6.5/10 for enjoyment. gfx: 8/10 - Abstract stuff. It looks better then some other abstract stuff. Song: 7/10 - Kind of annoyed me, but not to much for me to hate it. |

Re: RFpack Released!
I downloaded the pack. Better than some of the ODI ones I've played but I guess I need to realize that The Era of the "occasional" Hand is gone now.
Dew knows what I'm about to say, because I'm sure he hates me after I stepped into that SMO game that one time shortly after one of the packs were released. I don't know, Enigma I loved that was fun through and through, but then you have certain songs in which this "layering" completely takes over the file. I mean, come on. When the entire file is plagued with things that are "Proficient" to the music it just kinda destroys the possible fun of the file. Enigma Sped up at the end, but thats where the difficulty came in. Nothign was over done the Music was pretty good and I didn't have to slam hands for sixteen consecuitive hits to have a shot at a full combo. Before I continue however, I will say this. All of what I say isn't based on my performance on any given song. I can do the vast majority of these songs with relative ease, but I don't enjoy them as much as I used to enjoy something like "Love Fighter" Zanthro's old song (By no means do I mean all AAAs, I mean a comfortable mix of AAs and AAAs). That to me was one of the greatest simfiles ever made (Along with a ton of Toph Files). Comparing that file with nowadays layering standpoint, I mean, if I 'm going to be that proficient to hit a key, I might as well learn to play the damn instrument. Not to mention the fact that the remainder of FFR has forsaken the index player nearly completely (Other than the flash game). The pack is great, its synced well all that, but there aren't as many files that I consider fun. I still like certain artists, MacGravel (If I spelled it right, Seraph, Some of DJ Ossas stuff (Though thats starting to turn up in the "Layered beyond all hell" era and Rebirth, I love your old stuff (Angelus was yours right?) There are definitely songs I'd play again here, but when I look at it, some of them are just WAY too difficult for their own good. Thats all. Edit: <3 Atmos Breaks Faith is for Transient People (or whatever the hell the direct trans is) isn't bad either. Little double heavy, but I suppose its better than 4billion hands.

Re: RFpack Released!
It's because players nowadays are so good, that unless you do heavy layering, the files are really boringly easy. Not only that, but some people have complained how easy this pack is. Why not step faster music? Because it's really really hard to find some interesting fast music.
Also keyboard index files have been abandoned because they are really constricting when trying to follow the music, and most difficult pad files would fit in that category. Plus I'm surprised at the number of people who like Atmos Break. That file has so many blatant errors and inconsistencies that it doesn't even feel like it goes to the music at all. It just feels like I'm hitting arrows with a song in the background.
