How do you do this pattern?
I have no freaking clue as to how I'm supposed to do this. I'm trying to get Mou Uta Shika Kikoenai, and PLANETZ is easy for me to FC... except for this. This happens three times. The second time, I usually get it, but the first and third I cannot combo at all. Is there a trick to this? I've probably gotten to this first one, pictured below, over 100 times, but I've only done it twice, and immediately thereafter I messed up due to having to get my fingers out of the weird position they had to be in to combo it. I've even easily comboed things like this in other songs, but in PLANETZ, I just cannot get this pattern.
Any tips?

Trill with both hands. I don't have any problem with this pattern.

They're jumps.
Like 4-framer jumps. That's what they look like to me. Last edited by foilman8805; 12-17-2007 at 07:46 PM.. |

Re: How do you do this pattern?
Nah, they're 4 framers. Most people who find this difficult probably also find one handed trills relatively difficult, because for this pattern you are doing one trill in each hand

Re: How do you do this pattern?
Um, that doesn't really help, but thanks for trying...
I don't understand. It seems to me like I'm doing them perfectly without mistake. And it does this on both of my computers. I'm almost positive I'm doing it correctly, but it never works out for me. Mashing, in any way, shape or form, never works. What the hell am I doing wrong?

Re: How do you do this pattern?
They're called jumpbursts. They are a pain to full combo, or even PA. Mashing won't really help. Just treat them like trills; that should work.

Re: How do you do this pattern?
Good luck with mou uta shika, it's a horrible stepfile, I am anti index and that file is so index friendly it kills me
the pattern though is rather simple, you either treat it as two one handed trills, or claw mash or you could treat it for what it is, left right jump followed by up down jump I actually prefer that pattern, it's like in out in out with both your fingers simotaneously (wow that sounded wrong, and I know I spelled that word wrong) |

Well, I play 3 fingerd and I have no problem with it whatsoever... just try to button mash at that part, no one will know!

Re: How do you do this pattern?
Just hit it early.
BTW the proper term is a switchback or jumptrill.

Re: How do you do this pattern?
Seriously you guys find this hard? This is one of my favorite patterns, I call it a sandwich lol. Just practice it on your desk. (<>) jump then (v^) jump over and over. I don't even think of it as a trill. Really easy spread and feels really cool to do. Probably hard in other styles.
Actually my favorite sandwich is (^>) then (<v) over and over like in rottel da station.

You have FC'd Hellbeat. I have been trying to even get that stupid token forever, and yet I can pretty consistently FC Planetz without ever messing up on that pattern. So I don't know.... you obviously have a ton of skill but just need to figure out why you are missing. |

Re: How do you do this pattern?
jumptrilling is a blast seriously.
1. make sure you're doing it spread. if not then ur doing it wrong lol 2. hit a little early as they are 4 framers 3. as before mentioned, don't think of them as trills, just think of them as alternating jumps. i think they're easier then 1-handed trills personally. 4. rottel is awesome. 5. melonman is awesome. 6. planetz sucks. 7. idk why but I find them much easier on a higher speedmod. I can hit them perfectly on 1.75 or 2 but tend to not hit the doubles right on 1.5. 8. 26 48 switchbacks are horrible, i always start hitting them like rolls 9. ??? 10. Profit

Re: How do you do this pattern?
that pattern is easy for me, its the stupid 84 26 48 26 48 type thing that kills me
and gnr has it wrong, planetz is good, rottel is good, melonmans sucks melonman's op isnt even a song, its ****ty sounds put together and somehow a FMO was made out of it, let alone annoying steps. |

Re: How do you do this pattern?
I just do it as alternating jumps but I also move my hands more drastically to horizontally for to build speed...kinda hard to explain accurately but hit it hard and dramatically.

Re: How do you do this pattern?
easiest fix, learn to play spread, then its just like doingone handed trills in each hand, simple.
those jump-bursts gave me a trouble too, but i finally FCed it. problemo is then FCing Mou Uta Shika with only 4 goods. bahh! Humbug! |
