BIF is kinda overstepped, after looking at some tabs for it. You're basically playing two guitars at the same time. Which is cool for expert I guess, but not exactly realistic.

A lot of songs do this.

Through the Fire and Flames, for example.

Personally, I don't get it. If the band has two lead guitarists, why not just make the realistic version of the song in co-op and keep the primary part to the single-player, or at least make it an option for having the merging of the two guitarists?

After actually playing BIF hard I can say that it is a VASTLY more accurate chart than expert. The chorus is understepped (replacing the triples with doubles all the way through) but the rest is dead on, and the song was actually pretty fun.

I've seen it across every Guitar Hero-related forum I've read. Raining Blood is pointlessly hard. A regular at ScoreHero describes the song as:

And... "the rest of us"? Tell that to the hundreds of people who can't pass Tier 8 songs because they're just stupid. That includes Before I Forget, where everyone I've seen talking about that song says the chart is just retarded.
My Stricken comment was directed toward the other poster. He said it was horrendously overcharted. I said otherwise.

If Raining Blood were realistically charted, youd be freakin STRUMMING all of Mosh 1. Be glad its only as hard as it is.

And by the rest of us, i meant the rest of us here. Specially shash. Although hes in a league of his own. ****in FC on songs like Mauvais Garcon... THAT song is ****in ****. Id shoot that song before Raining Blood or BiF. ESPECIALLY BiF, cuz I love playing that chart.

And sure, Raining Blood took me like 20 tries to 5*. Yes I got pissed out of my freakin gourd getting the same score 5 times in a row. Sure I wanted to throw the guitar across the room when I couldnt hit the TTFAF intro on slow. Really, that's a GOOD thing. Im glad this game isnt like 80s in that every song was a 5* sightread (although im still in shock that i beat lou first try).

To each his own, i guess. Im done arguing. I had enough of this arguing over at SH, i really dont need it here.

EDIT: i guess ill be playing through the charts on hard anyway (achievements ftl) so ill see how much different BiF is.

Wow Knights of Cydonia hard is horrible lol. It's kinda fun (in a this doesn't hurt my wirsts like expert does kind of way ) but it's the most inconsistent notechart I've ever seen rofl.

EDIT: One is pretty fun on hard, I disagree with how they handled the watering down of the solo but that's just personal, the rest was really good.

To tell you the Truth i prefer sturmming that part so much easier heh.

Also Squeek don't worry about teir 8 "One" and "The Number of the Beast" are alot better then Raining Blood. *Although the solo in One is a bit ridiculous.*

It randomly switches between 12ths, 24ths, and holds. It goes from one to the other for no apparent reason.

A friendly reminder:

The encores for Co-op are awesome. You're missing out if you can't get them.

Monsters is a load of fun.

Ok so I've beaten' everything up untill Raining Blood.

Have everything five starred except raining blood, one, and cliffs of dover.

I can't ****ing beat raining blood. I cannot do those four note patterns that fast for the life of me, started to piss me off. I get random tries where I can get up to a 4 times multiplier in that section then I just bomb the rest and it's an easy fail. Any tips? It's pissing me off.

ps: 2% on TtFatF without strumming

I played through the game on Co-op yesterday.

I was disappointed that the only song that prompted me to say "oh shit" was One.

Also, unless the single player is vastly different from the guitar portion of Co-op, Knights of Cydonia is an enormous joke and I can't believe that you guys find it difficult or tiring in the least. This coming out of a guy who was extremely drunk on his sightread.

Ya knights of Cydonia, I don't find too hard...

Also, just played Raining blood, and passed it easily. First Try without star power in the section of 4's. I don't know why I couldn't hit them before, now they seem SOOOOO easy.

Oh well, Battle with Lou now. It's... uh... kinda tough...

the battle with lou is kinda easy if the first powerup he gets is either wammy or broken string if he gets leftey flip, or double, your basically screwed

All right, I finally found out how to beat Lou with your FIRST power-up.

When you get to the first battle sequence, make sure your first power-up is whammy. If not, then restart until you get one. As soon as the devil starts playing again in his next solo, there will be a long stream of green notes. Use it there. It will drain his whole life before he recovers.

How do I know?

k so I just beat the game on expert. Pretty easy 'cept Lou took me 30 tries because I kept using my power up in the wrong spot.

Then after beating the game, I learned a new strategy for through the fire and the flames intro. I always used to try to hammer on the intro, I tried strumming every note and hitting them, got through the intro easily. Made it to 81% then died because I used star power too soon. Now I know why people are saying it's easy. It is really is easy once you get through intro.

Do they make guitars for lefteys? Every time I play the whammy bar gets in my way and I screw up.

TTFATF is an easy, easy pass compared to Jordan. I can pass TTFATF pretty easily without using star power, and I'm sure I can't even consistently pass Jordan with star power.

Squeek, just keep playing, and you'll get there soon enough. Go through some of Career on Expert, and come back for the last songs on Hard. The difficulty curve on Hard is definitely out of whack. I played some of the Tier 8 songs on hard. The One chart is completely awful. It's pretty much almost as hard as the Expert chart, or at least, where it matters. Raining Blood shouldn't be too big of a deal, because the Mosh 1 section really isn't that long. It'll just take a little bit of practice.

I've 5*d everything but Take This Life, The Way It Ends, and TTFATF. Last three bonus songs, haha. Lucked out really badly on Mauvais Garcon and 5*d it second try. Good damn thing. Don't want to have to play that a lot. It's fun, but playing it more than three times in a row trying to achieve something would be frustrating beyond words.

I agree with everything in this post.

Except ive 5*d Take this Life

502k on TTFAF and its STILL A 4*!! ****. i was really hoping to 5* it

also, 323k on The Way it Ends is freakin 4* as well. Goddammit, those two are easily the two hardest songs to 5*.

Its funny how the "hardest" songs in GHII and GHIII are like inverse of each other. Jordan is hard to pass but easy to 5*. TTFAF is easy to pass but hard as **** to 5*.

EDIT: ya, that strategy for lou is soooo pro. I beat him first try w/o that tho (complete and utter luck) but i got a few times today and it was hilarious to just watch him perish.

Figured you guys might like this:
