Some awesome bands:

Tool, Incubus, Kittie, Marilyn Manson, Our Lady Peace, Dredg, System of a Down, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, They Might Be Giants, Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie, 311

Obviously there are more but these are mostly the important ones. I LOVE TOOL.

Helloween, Hammerfall, Kamelot, Blind Guardian, Dragonforce...

Mostly power metal. Some heavy metal. And I've recently been getting into some more folk metal and viking metal and more black metal like Finntroll, Stormlord...

And it's so cool to see how there are so many different people into different stuff. I mean, most people I know are into real similar stuff.

Fine then. Replace "guitar" in my previous post with some other "real" instrument.

I've never heard anyone say drumming takes no skill.
I've heard people say bass takes no skill...but not drums.

Hey, I don't agree.
I mean, yeah. You can play with no skill and suck.....
But to be good it takes skill like every instrument in it's own way.

Yea well when n00bs like my cool bands it makes them seem really crappy to me. Stop liking awesome stuff so I can feel cool again. Only cool people can share the cool bands. That includes people who can spell words right and stuff like that. Like intelligent people.

I liked Linkin Park before they were overpopular with 10 year olds. They're still awesome but I can't associate myself with them for fear of n00bs. By the way, they utterly rule in concert.

As for techno? DJ Mystic, DJ Epic, Daft Punk (shut up), Darude, Aphex Twin, The Faint, Prodigy, and Zombie Nation.

As for anime? Every anime I've seen that has a soundtrack is on my computer. The Naruto soundtrack is so awesome, but you gotta love the intro / ending themes to all the other shows that rule.
