FFR and SpinItUp support and benefit CD
Here's an idea Sleepy and I were tossing around a while back. It would be relatively cheap and a great way to spread FFR/SIU and the artist's music itself. Profits would go to support FFR, and hell, maybe Synth can throw in a subscription to help sweeten the deal.
The CD would have around 8 to 12 tracks. Why so few, you ask? Well, Sleepy had an amazing idea. Why not have a bonus data track with exclusive content, such as audio interviews with the actual artists? In short, I believe this could be something that could make FFR even bigger then it already is. Artists Interested: /DJS\ Sleeplessdragn Jewpin (The Fat's Sabobah and other aliases) Pyroshock iPatch DJSBX Draigun xTrance Wickedawesomeful KgZ FGJ! (Spook) Possibly You! (Just post!) For manufacturing, CDs are relatively cheap when it comes to processing, so we may get someone else to do it, or, we may just do it ourselves. I'd l love to hear other people's input on this project. Concerns for artists and the public: What label will we publish this under? Who is a good graphics artist to handle the art? Who's good at flash to make a minisite? (www.ffrcd.com) What's a good witty title? If this does well, would people be interested in a second volume? I can provide most of the materials, casings, and productions costs, but I may need a bit of help for shipping. Anyone to provide? We need someone to contact Cornandbeans and some of the other more independent artists for the project, because the likelyhood for a major band is unreasonable (But certainly not impossible, you can try if you want). Can anybody get in contact with a record store where we can sell this puppy not just on FFR? Concerns for Artists: Please choose one or two tracks for the CD. Please make at least one of those tracks from FFR or SpinItUp. Last edited by Starshot; 08-22-2007 at 02:37 PM.. |

60pack Standards: $98 USD | SAVE $10
60 Standards, Access to Design Templates 72 Trayliners, Insert Books + Disc Labels Oh baby, that's a good price. And my dad's office has a color laser printer, this could be sweet. |

Can your dad's printer possibly print directly onto the CD?
I can't stand those little sticker-labels, you know? PS count me in Also I could work on some concept cover art for it.

We may have a plastic casing that fits it into the 8x11 slot from our old espon printer. If not, the espon printer itself could do it, but, it wouldn't be laser.

Re: FFR and SpinItUp support and benefit CD
So, Starshot, what do you have in mind for the cover art? I just whipped this up with a mediocre cut-out of the FFR Guy from in-game.
I'm sure Synth could provide a higher-res image of the FFR Guy.

Sounds like a great idea for artist promotion, and wholesome fun for regulars, but I'd imagine gaining outside approval and distribution would be difficult.
However, I'd love to see this happen just as much as the next person, and I'll offer my services to the project should you need them. |
