I hate to ignore all this hubub of items and secret roles, but since I've had no items this game, and since I have no clue what the item descriptions could allude to, I'm just going to have to leave that grunt work for you touhou (???) people and vote regular old TWG style. If you guys determine one you your blues is a wolf, I'll consider that then, but right now I've still got my eyes on DarkManticore for that slip up yesterday.

Recap: darkmanticore rattled off some statistics assuming there are 4 wolves in this game even though with 16 players the standard set of wolves is 3. Slipping up whiel trying to be helpful as a wolf often comes from forgeting not to mention some extra information that you have as a wolf (I would know, I did it last mystery game).

Names are very important in the artifacts supposed effect. If you have an artifact on that list, and you received a name of a place/thing/person, it would be very helpful in finding out what it does. Let talisman know the details and he can search the wiki/ask other people.

Honestly, I've got no idea what most of these items do - I've never played in an item game before, so I don't know what kind of effects to expect from them.

I would guess that either the phoenix or hourai elixir items protect from death. Other than that I have no clue =/

Also, Talis, why should we not vote for DarkManticore after a slip-up like that? You might be on to something with your jeweler fiasco, but the rest of us don't have nearly enough details on the situation to come to any sort of conclusion.

don't want him lynched on the basis of what his role supposedly is. also I feel the jeweler thing seems like it should be much more likely to yield a wolf, although the slip, if it was one, is duly noted.

wait i have a great idea, how about we just don't lynch anybody anymore, and we just co-exist peacefully with the wolves, that way we don't have to risk losing ANY important roles! chances are you're not being lied to anyway

I very well may be being lied to, but it's too early and not worth it at this point to risk that chance, based on his role. you'd understand if I could tell you the role, but obviously I can't.

well, i know my propensity to forget voting and gobbling up my phantoms early, if it steamrolls into an insta, the first few posters can't be blamed! If I come back and more votes are on him, I'll happily temporarily change it.

Hey, I'll admit I worded that post wrong, and If talisman wants to get his seer to check me out then I'm all for it. I was under the mistaken assumption most (if not all) 16 player games came embedded with 4 wolves. Looks like I was wrong, and I claimed knowledge I didn't have. Last game there were 4 wolves, so I automatically assumed this game would too.

Lets get back to being productive on the item front. So we can try to figure out what some of these do.

Yeah let's get the spotlight off you, good idea. My point before was since there are few people who can be helpful on "the item front" it would be best for those people to start playing this like a regular TWG, ignoring the items for now. The only item-helpful thing we can do left is:

some more info for you all to play with:

the hourei elixir is a guard item for the owner.

the phoenix one is a resurrection item. it reshuffles at a 100% rate and can reshuffle to dead people, at which point it revives them. if you're attacked or lynched, it essentially protects you / brings you back to life the next morning and becomes useless.

also, a possibility that no one has raised yet: one of thunder or stoic was attacked due to having attacked the other. as in, a role or item possessed by one triggered the attack on the other when the one was attacked. Don't know how likely this is (doesn't fit with their roles or items as far as I know), but something to think about.

That's like saying 'go ahead and just post manticore's role so we don't lynch him and he gets wolfed.'

As in, not a good idea. What talisman says goes, and the fact that he has more info than us means you should not be prying for a reason for his actions.

So TWG here has devolved to the level of following the guy who happens to be a viable alliance head absolutely unquestionably, without thinking or considering anything for one's self?
