Re: Mmorpgs
Meh, everyone has their own opinions. I'm a bit close minded that way, I don't like that opinion so I shut it out all the time.
A good example (although there are many) is World of Warcraft. If you read all the books and played all the games, you'll know certain NPCs in the game and the importance they hold. I mean, if you play the game without knowing a character like Thrall, the game holds no more meaning than a mindless grind game. However, if you've read the lore and know his accomplishments, when you actually meet him in-game as an NPC, you'll be in total awe. Same goes for cities, in Sword of Mana, they hyped about one city for the longest time and I was wondering when we would get to it and when I actually got to it, I was like, "WOAH, I'm here now." ~Tsugomaru

Re: Mmorpgs
I totally agree with Tsu on this one.
I have WoW, and have been a huge warcraft fan since the very first game. Seeing the "heroes" of warcraft III as NPCs in WoW was totally awesome. I had a friend who had no prior knowledge of warcraft with me when we got to see Varimathas and Lady Slyvanas (Important War 3 people) and he was just like "yeah, that's nice, grab their quests and lets get out of here." That's just lame.

If you just want a simple but fun MMORPG try Sherwood.
It uses Shockwave I believe, and its fully 3D and free! http://maidmarian.com/Sherwood.htm

Re: Mmorpgs
The City Of Heroes novels are actually really good.
And the story arcs in the game are amazing. If anyone wants to try the game, I will gladly play with them. Yes, its a grind until lvl 14 (when you get a travel power). |

Re: Mmorpgs
He may be looking for MMOs and not MMORPGs, though. Many popular MMOs are MMORPGs, so he may assume the all games are MMORPGs since you play as the role of someone else in every MMO.

Re: Mmorpgs
Actually no it's not considered an MMORPG, since you only start "games" and it's not one complete world that everyone is in all the time. It has some qualities of one though. Sorry to be such a nitpick but someone else would've said it anyways.. probably in a more rude way too, lol.
