Honestly, I still blame it on the right to bear arms. xD

I mean, yeah, that's not the reason why he did it, I understand that, ugh, but.. he was devising a plan to kill people for what reason, we don't really know yet, some are speculating it's mainly because of his hate for "rich kids" and how everyone is happy and ****. I could definitely relate to this, because at times, I feel like a complete loner in school, I honestly have no "real" friends I would consider, and also, the fact that I'm basically disliked by my classmates because of my sexual preference and violent outbursts, it just pushes people away and makes them think I'm some sort of freak or something. =/

But, also, if he didn't have the ability to legally purchase these weapons and all, none of this would have happened. I mean, yeah, sometimes I feel like I just want to go ahead and shoot someone in the face because they're frustrating me to a certain degree, and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

This guy was just driven to that point, and went got himself a gun.

I'm just, completely against this, so much, it doesn't matter if it's for self-protection or not, I don't believe that anyone has the right to own something that could potentially take the life of another person.

yea, but there's so many things that are dangerous enough to kill someone
guns being a major thing, any 'weapon'
but even normal things can be dangerous...from garden tools to a piano wire
but i kno what you mean...
and it's terrible =/

Theres just some stupid people though. Where I live everyone had guns. They sell bullets in the barber shop. Theres never been a misfire or anyone that goes crazy or whatever. It's self-control and most americans don't have that.

Nyokou, I know there were reports that he'd written a note explaining why he did it, but now the police are saying there was no suicide note. I'm pretty sure that's just some rumor some random person leaked to the media, who instantly ate it up.

And if he was determined to kill anyone, he would have found a way to do it. He may not have been able to kill as many people without guns, but he would have done as much damage as he could with whatever reasons he had. You can't go blaming the weapon.

No, you're not, but we've respectfully requested that this thread be reserved for those who are not tired of hearing about it and feel like talking.

Jack Thompson blames it on video games, who didn't see this coming... not to mention that this video was made before the identity of the student was even known.

I don't know if anyone else has checked or seen this yet, but I'm very disappointed at the groups that are being created on Facebook. Being extremely angry and hurt is perfectly understandable, but a lot of the things being said is just plain horrible. I just thought that college students would be a little more mature about this, but I guess I was wrong.

Yeah, I've seen a couple. They're disgusting. I'm not in any of the groups, but I'm a member of an event about it, and as far as I can tell there haven't been any hateful comments. The admin is pretty good about deleting the stupidity.

All I've seen is messages on the walls of various groups expressing some really hateful sentiments toward the shooter.

They say guns don't kill people, but the certainly help, don't they?

Think back to Bowling for Columbine. Whether you like Michael Moore and his style of film-making or not, he makes some very valid points about our culture and its fixation on guns, violence, fear, and consumption.

No-one can think back to 'Bowling for Columbine' because no-one in the right mind would watch it.

I watched it twice. Once for gr12 english and once when it was on TV. I thought it was well done and made important points, but I am a leftist hippie freak after all.
