About the term "lol"...
It means laugh out loud... but I have an odd feeling that we don't actually do this when we type it in, the term is being overused and it's not really fitting what it means. Same with other things such as rofl. Therefore, I propose we actually do these things when we type it in. No, it doesn't have to be serious, it can be a fake cheesy laugh, you can slowly get out of your chair, take time to lie down on the floor, and then roll around laughing if you want to, but we should officially start doing these things from now on.
I've had my rant, good night. |

When I type lol I'm actually laughing. Maybe not out loud, but I still laugh.

I rarely laugh out loud when I use lol. It'll usually be a chuckle, heh, ha, or some kind of aknowledgement of the joke.
If I actually laugh out loud, I'll use rofl or lmao. It's appropriate, though. It's not like I use rofl all the time. |

I never use lol unless it's to make fun of someone because it is retarded. There are other ways to show something's funny. If I actually do chuckle at something (I never actually laugh out loud) I may put in a haha, but not an lol becuase I don't want to associate myself with the hundred million AIM, chat, and forum users that act and type like retards.

Considering that it's bad grammar as well - the correct way to say it would be "laugh aloud"
So if anything, we should all type "LA" instead of "LOL" My correct grammar rant.

No, it originally mean "Laughing Out Loud". It would be used in this cannotation : "Hey guys, this video has me LOL."

"Lol" originally mean "lots of love". But of course not anymore.
I use lol sometimes. Im usually not laughing. Sometimes I smirk. I use "rofl" when I think something is chuckle funny, "ROFL" when it has me smiling wide, and other forms like "HAHAHAHAHA" when its UBERfunny. So yeah.
