I'm pissed off with FFR and SM right now. I don't ****ing understand why the original way to play these games (one-handed) is simply being thrown away and almost completely disregarded, except by some actually hardworking players in the community. I think it's ****ing ridiculous how often one-handed players get ridiculed and demeaned and labeled as "bitchy" even though they work harder than any spread or two-handed player out there.

I mean what the ****, if you were just introduced to FFR, your first instinct would most definitely not be be "Hm, I guess I'll need an auto hot-key program so I can set the arrow keys as A, S, K and L! Or better yet, I'll use two fingers from each hand and cross them over awkwardly! That'll work wonders!". Hell no!

The obviously original and natural way to play is by placing fingers from one hand onto the arrow keys. Any other way, in my opinion, is unfair. I also believe that FFR songs are becoming less and less fun, due to that so many of them practically require you to play spread or two-handed.

I can already picture what people are going to say to me, and I really don't care.

"If you know playing one-handed has a disadvantage, switch to another playing method! It's so easy!"
"Why would you waste your time complaining about something that has no meaning whatsoever?"

I just want to get my point across; I think everyone should be required to know and respect that one-handed players work harder than any other players. If only people could get that through their heads, I would be a little more comfortable with the fact that I'm only an average player because I play with one hand. I hate to be judged as a bad player after playing for two and a half years simply because I play with one hand. I find that ridiculous. If you're simply going to bitch to me any of the comments I listed above, or anything along those lines, don't waste your time. If anything, I want some positive enforcement or even constructive criticism. I'm not about to waste my time fighting over the internet with some loser who can't spell or be grammatically correct in any way.

Well. That's all I have to say. If you read this entire rant, I appreciate it. It's probably a pain to see me "taking up space" on the forum.

I fail to see anywhere where it's being disregarded. It's just a style that's widely used with newer members, and for what reason I don't know. People change as they get better.

No, instead I'm going to use three fingers to press four keys! That'll TOTALLY work better!

No they're not going to use spread first try but a lot of people start out with two hands. I started with one hand personally but switched somewhat quickly.

There's no original, natural way to play the game. It's what you're used to and what you're comfortable with.

And by your logic index is the only "fair" style because this IS a DDR clone, and you only have 2 legs, right?

No they don't, they just require a large amount of skill to play one handed. Playing with one hand holds you back, and just because there are songs on here of a suitable difficulty for the majority of FFR players doesn't mean the minority has the right to complain about it and expect any action to be taken.

If spread can play much, MUCH faster things than one handers, how is it still working harder? It might be hard for you guys to play songs that are easy with spread, but spread players can play songs 2, 3, 4 times as hard as one handers. That's still working pretty hard.

No, you're most likely a good one handed player. However, compared to a spread or indexer, you don't even compare. If improvement is what you're after doesn't it make sense to play with the style which has been proven is MUCH better at pretty much everything?

Nobody's going to support someone who's making falsified, unbiased and exaggerated claims that they're being held back for using an inferior playing style. One handers definitely make the game harder on themselves, but they shouldn't complain that they're seen as lesser players.

One of two options, my friend:
-Practice one-handed and "prove people wrong". (Sort of what I'm doing, only I just play one-handed for the hell of it)
-Switch to spread and get over it if "one handed players work harder than any other players".

Wrap-up: I love the fact that you're sticking up for the one-handed people, but it's not really worthy of a thread.

Apparently, I should apologize for using a more efficient playing style.

One-handers work no harder than any other players. They simply spend, on average, more time reaching a particular skill level, which can ultimately be obtained more quickly with another style.

There are but a handful of elite one-handers in all of FFR. Playing with one hand has certain limitations that cannot be conquered. In case you didn't know, even our best one-hander recently switched to spread. The reasons should be obvious.

(c) One hand was not "natural" for me, I started 4 finger. So you're making generalizations that aren't necessarily true.
