Re: 12 Songs of FFRmas Discussion
I liked this new one a lot. =) It was fun while being somewhat challenging in some areas, moreso on technical levels than how-fast-can-you-move levels.
Nice. ^^

Day 5 is up! Our first song from cornandbeans. File by Silvuh. 4.5, IMO. Dance.
Enjoy.

Re: 12 Songs of FFRmas Discussion
overstepped... doubles shouldn't be overused like that. Also in those parts where the synth melody is simple and clearly heard over everything, those notes in between phrases are sloppy and should have been omitted.
And in the beginning, the red orange blue seems odd... I'm willing to bet that would have worked as red yellow blue like a standard quarter note triplet pattern. |

Re: 12 Songs of FFRmas Discussion
there were 2 of those oranges at the beginning... but the 1st 5 notes were cut off from the converter.
and, yea. i'll agree that some of the triplet patterns were overstepped, but they were done consistently the same throughout. we can call those "16th sandwiches"... 1 16th notes sandwiched between jumps.

Re: 12 Songs of FFRmas Discussion
when I say triplet I mean the musical definition... my point about those two 32nds is that I think they're late and should be sixteenths.
And doubles are overused as silvuh got lazy and started copypasting and turning. At first, they go to hard bass kicks, which is fine, but then they go to the end of the little three sixteenth phrases which really isn't hardhitting enough to justify a double, in my mind. |

FYI, frozen and rose are in queue... we actually have 2 versions of rose that are in queue, and Shash and I are still in debate on which to use.

Re: 12 Songs of FFRmas Discussion
I thought it was an okay file. I agree with the jumps being a tad overused. I found myself a little frustrated with the bad PA caused by the "16th sandwiches"
also, I'm really pissed because I AAA'd firestorm all the way to the end and got a good on the second to last arrow, so I only BF'd

Re: 12 Songs of FFRmas Discussion
Firestorm, overused jumps. Too repetitive more than anything, a little tricky to PA on index so it's definetly fustrating for me.

Re: 12 Songs of FFRmas Discussion
I like the song, but the repetitive steps toward the middle of the song are annoying.

Re: 12 Songs of FFRmas Discussion
The song's alright. It's waaaaaay overstepped, though, and I really don't like the jump placement. I agree that some of jumps are arguable (although unnecessary), but the way they are used inhibits the flow of the file.
Decent for a first file, but I think it could definitely use some work.
