Re: Songs of the Week (September 28, 2013)
S.E.B: Congrats sanzath! Interesting file - there were a bunch of times that I personally felt could've made for some interesting accents or filled in more, but that's ~subjective~. I did like the 24th/64th themed stuff, which was cool. Grats again
ps is it just me or is the offset off by a bit Shade: xx.x.xX ft. Middie 64ths ™©®. I see where you're coming from (with the 64ths) in this though, and the hands were on point. Worlds apart from MFDFY...I was surprised at just how different the two files were. Kirby: My favourite, pending UNICORNS. I enjoyed it, fun VC

Re: Songs of the Week (September 28, 2013)
All the songs were alright except for Shade;
-Your pattern placement made no sense -Your PR is atrocious -64ths of doom no one cares -... -You can't step seriously wtf |

Honestly though this is a pretty accurate review. I mean I can't think of anything good to say even if I wanted to. Umm, the first few arrows to the percussion aren't wrong? Good job there! Basically the file has all the problems of a boring, grace-note-filled easy file without even good PR or a unique song genre to spice it up. It has basically no redeeming qualities... Please start rejecting files that are this bad. That is all.

And Midnight, please don't call the kettle black...it's really obvious. @everyone else: please talk about the other files as well - that's the purpose of threads like these. |

When I wrote my post, I hadn't even played his file. I had only read the first comments, saw some people disliked the 64ths and just typed a bullshit post directed at Middie. I was shocked back when I learned that Middie sometimes posted that kind of comment, the same way I did, without actually even giving the simfile a chance. I don't follow your history too much, Middie, and I know you're becoming better with time, but the fact you did that for so long is just outrageous. It really is. You can just read by yourself your own history; most of time time, the way you express your opinion doesn't come off quite far from my own post in this thread, which is, as you so rightly said it, "horrendous horse shit". The way you're calling out Dossar, the way you're telling everyone that they suck (except for a lucky few), that's just playing with fire. I am an asshole for trolling him like that, and for that, I am sorry. It was only an attempt at making him realize that the way he comments/used to comment/rage on stuff can get on our nerves. Seriously, Middie is a great guy. Deep inside of him, there's a talented, sensible and truly complex person. I love him, and I hope he isn't too mad at me for this stunt. THIS GUY CAN STEP WHEN HE WANTS TOO, at that. There, I said it. He's not a perfect stepper, he still makes beginners' mistakes, but he's better technically than about 60% of the people I reviewed files for. That's something to be proud of. Now, I simply feel bad that people agree on my post. What I really, honestly think after playing the file, is that "it's a generic easy file". The only thing we could blame Middie of doing, except for trying to be stylish with 64ths (and to that I say, nice effort, even though it didn't have a good effect on me), is that his song choice was arguably playing it too safe. That's about as much as I have to write on the subject as a simfile judge. To conclude, sorry for all the fuss. Maybe I should've not done that, maybe I should've played it safer. Maybe this will only get people to hate me without changing a thing in Middie's attitude and our general attitude toward him. I just wanted to put him in the hot seat like he did to so many of us, not for revenge sake since he never did it to me, but to make him see how destructive such harsh statements can be. 'tis all. |

a "generic" easy file is fine, it's not like beginners want to play technically complex stuff when they struggle to be accurate on single notes... feels like people are really missing the point of easy files |

What are you adding to this conversation by saying that? I meant what I said. Besides, it's the rest of the post that really matters.

It is placed as a quad, what's the problem?
Also just took a look at Shade. Quote:

I'm getting sick of batch notes getting neglected. I can't enjoy the file with the fact that none of those errors were fixed. |

Re: Songs of the Week (September 28, 2013)
S.E.B. in B.E.D. - Pretty fun.
Feels like the initial 16th stream could have had layering in it considering the difficulty of the rest of the file, but it works as you have it to set up the upcoming sections. Nothing really makes it stand out from other similar difficulty JS files, but it was solidly stepped and enjoyable to play.
