Default DDR

Hey everyone, I just want to know;
Who here plays/played DDR?
Did you join FFR before playing DDR, or after?
What level do/did you play in DDR? [though the levels are called different things in different versions.]

For me, I first started playing DDR, and my cousin told me about FFR, so I joined because it looked cool. ^^ I usually play standard-difficult in DDR, depending on the song. [That's out of Easy, Light, Standard, Difficult, Insane.]

I played DDR. I don't really play anymore its boring and AAAing (REAL AAA, not the almost all perfect AAA Supernova 2 stuff) is too frustrating.

I joined FFR after.

I can clear every song in the game on any difficulty. I can clear most songs on doubles.

By the way, there's no difficulty called insane. And once you get to Heavy/Expert, the Oni/Challenge difficulty blurs together, so you cant say you play on one difficulty.

I bought DDR a long time ago but never played. I found this site first and got hooked. Last summer, I finally started DDR. I'm not very good, but I enjoy the gameplay.

I play, and still play DDR. I've played it since the first ever DDR was released, and discovered FFR only a year ago, so in other words FFR came after DDR.

On DDR specifically, I can do every song except for FELMO (dumb stepchart), and Paranoia Hades Challenge, also I can play up to about level 12's on ITG. Generally though, I'm nowhere near what would be considered good at DDR/ITG right now.

I love DDR, but I don't get too many chances to play it. Every so often I'll take a trip to disneyland and they'll have supernova 2 there to play, but otherwise not enough to get enough practice in to really do well. Also, supernova 2 was a huge step down from 1, and it really annoyed me. I play ITG a lot though, and I have a couple pictures on my profile of scores from that.

I've been playing DDR for about two years now and FFR for about three.

On DDR I usually play (all on expert/oni):

- No. 13
- Paranoia Survivor Max [Heavy]
- Max 300
- Exotic Ethnicity
- V (For extreme)
- Freeway Shuffle
- Paranoia Rebirth

The best of my ability right now is on ITG I can do Charlene Expert, Vertex Expert, Anubis Expert, and can almost do 16th streams, just have stamina issues.

I would be playing DDR right about now if my mat was working properly but it seems that all the buttons are messed and no matter where I step I'm always hitting 1 or more other buttons that I'm not even stepping on so it'l prolly be till around Christmas when i get a new mat.

I play stepmania with a pad, if that counts.
I can play 9 footers, but only simply patterned ones, levels with too many crossovers make me sick. D:

I've played SMDDR for like 8 hours total, just started again! :3
Never played it before this year.

I started to play DDR about 4 years ago, yes, when i was 10. I basically started out on light mode, then it took me forever to get to stardard. About at the time that I was transitioning into heavy, I found FFR. So basically now I'm the best in my town at DDR, and we don't have an ITG machine so yeah. Now I can pass most songs except maybe FAXX oni, Hades oni, FELM oni and Pluto. I can AAA (99x,xxx) most songs up to 9 footers and some 10's. I just got my most recent one today, which was Xenon with 6 greats. So yeah, my life went from boring to DDR at the age of ten.

I started DDR four days ago or something like that.

I cannot understand, nor put my comprehension into action, when to use the same foot twice or alternate feet... no foot-eye coordination. I usually end up spinning around in the most inefficient manner to get an FC. Pattern recognition and timing were easily picked up from FFR, though I play with much slower cmods. Hands and quads are annoying when it comes to releasing your grasp on the handlebar. I didn't get that many problems with up-down confusion. I have not double or tristared anything yet, but I can pass 9, sometimes 10, footers. The most difficult thing I face for now is endurance.

A non-skill problem I face is music availability. There are so few pad packs I can associate myself with, some being OD5AMPP, TPPI, and DDRAM1-5. DDRAM files suck. OD5AMPP was ok, TPP was the best so far. All of the original DDR songs are despised by my family, so we don't play them. <_< which leaves me to make more steps for myself.

Played FFR/SM before playing DDR casually and then soon afterwards ITG seriously. Before quitting ITG 3 months ago, I passed my first Expert 13 (Summer Speedy~Mix~ with 72.95%). Not much of an accomplishment but whatever I suck at ITG anyways.

Most proper pad files don't really require double stepping (stepping with the same foot twice) unless it's for like mini jacks or something. Usually pad files flow quite well without ever having to double step unless it's really necessary and technically correct.

Pretty much same with me. I played FFR and SM before starting to play DDR casually and then soon after ITG seriously. However I read at a much faster cmod on dancepad compared to keyboard mainly because I have better FA/MA on dancepad and reaction time is pretty alright with my feet. I play C600 on Stepmania while on Dancepad usually around C800 =/

You could always cheat them on pad (e.g. quad smash all four panels with the heel and toes of your feet).

Hmmm, I'd suggest downloading Ethereal Rising however it's mostly loaded with some pretty hard files but it could help with building your endurance and stamina.

Try downloading a few custom files from groovestats. Although most of the files aren't all that great, it has variety.

DDR sucks in all honesty, ITG is the only way to go. I have a Red Octane Afterburner at home, even though I kinda suck. I can do Anubis Oni and I can do Vertex on a Cmod.

boy you can see sarcasm a mile away.

Also, I think I should mention how much I hate how EVERY SINGLE ****ING DDR MACHINE IN NEW MEXICO IS BROKEN. I've seen one that wasn't, and that was in Las Vegas (New Mexico) which is 3 hours away.

I joined FFR later, after I played DDR for quite a while. However I just played homeversion mostly on and off until later 2006. Right now I can pass every song in In The Groove 2 except for Determinator and Vertex^2.
