hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
Co-hosted by qqwref Summary This is a no-elimination FFR tournament for all skill levels, held using exclusively brand-new custom files. The difficulty of the tournament is designed to get you to push your limits right from the start, while never crossing the boundary into complete inability to read the file. The tournament will be using the raw scoring system and will be hosting the files on the Dossar Tournament Engine. You do not have to be a member of a specific team to join this tournament, though informal competition between teams is absolutely encouraged in this thread. Format This is a no elimination tournament. There will be 5 divisions with multiple flights to accommodate varying skill levels. Scoring This tournament uses raw scoring. There are three scoring schemes: cumulative scoring, tournament points, and individual round scoring. Everyone is automatically entered into all types when they sign up. Submitting Scores This tournament will be using the Dossar Tournament Engine, which has automated score recording. HOWEVER, this feature will not be utilized for this tournament, in the spirit of complying with Velocity's wishes. You are free to be signed in to the engine and record your scores as you play the files for this tournament, but I will not be checking the automatically recorded scores. ALL SCORES MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH A PROPER SCREENSHOT IN THIS THREAD. IMPROPER SCREENSHOTS WILL BE REJECTED, NO EXCEPTIONS. Replays, videos, or anything else will not be accepted on their own without a proper screenshot. You can update your scores at any time before the round ends. Please do not edit a new score into old posts. Round Format and Dates Rounds will be 4 days long and begin on Saturday and Tuesday evenings at 10PM server time. This setup ensures there is time on the weekends for each round, to accommodate those who are busy during the week. Note that this also means there will be time on Wednesday each week where the new round is out, but scores for the old round can still be submitted. There will be 7 rounds total, with an 8th tiebreaker round added if needed. This tournament will be starting on Saturday, February 18th. Additional Stuff Signing Up Accounts signing up must have at least 150 games played across at least 50 unique levels. Sign up with your main account only. If you meet these requirements, post in this thread and you are in.

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
I actually find Harvest Dance a lot easier than Speed This. Only reason this is hard is because of the length, and the crazy streams. I honestly feel I am relying more on skill for Harvest Dance. Speed This takes a lot of luck for me to get the jacks right, and the weird hands piss me off because I always have to mash, and I get random misses and things. Also my arms get a lot more tired from Speed This, as Harvest Dance actually has some places that are not super crazy.

I enjoy it! I suck at it, but I like the song and the file is still fun even if out of my league. |

Re: hi19hi19's Delicious Custom Theme Tournament
Have you tried playing slower JS files on FFR and working your way up? I'd start with some Southern Cross JS, then do some Makiba and Defection JS (they are both different styles of JS, so I'd recommend both for practice), and maybe some EHHS JS. I personally find EHHS JS to be more difficult than Emerald Sword's JS, so after your confident in your ability to at least read EHHS JS, Emerald Sword should be a breeze.
