Meep. Damn, shiro ryuu, if you'd like, you can copy and paste my info onto your post using the advanced edit option. I don't have as much time to update as you do.

EDIT: that Hatsune Miku no Shousitsu song you sent me... It was such an emotionally moving song... T_T, reminds me of the cggame.

EDIT2: about kumamero. I'm sure he's only talking about his CD songs. OR, he was talking about not allowing redistribution on a separate site.

EDIT3: Go get coSmo on FFR XD. Get Hatsune Miku no Shousitsu on FFR. XD http://chemsys.web.fc2.com/index.html

EDIT4:HUGE NEWS http://sincere.ddo.jp/debutante/ 3 vocaloid giants have released a conglomerative vocaloid CD! One of them is Baker.

Sure, I can probably look into updating it

EDIT: that Hatsune Miku no Shousitsu song you sent me... It was such an emotionally moving song... T_T, reminds me of the cggame.
The CG Game was freaking sad. This one is sad too, once you get done trying to figure out what exactly she's saying

EDIT2: about kumamero. I'm sure he's only talking about his CD songs. OR, he was talking about not allowing redistribution on a separate site.
It's actually the female one I was talking too (Of course, I'd talk to the female one ). The thing is, CD or MP3, both are for sale. You can go to the site JapanFiles and download individual MP3's, or you can buy their new CD album off Amazon, Tower, etc. That said, either form they want you to pay for.

EDIT3: Go get coSmo on FFR XD. Get Hatsune Miku no Shousitsu on FFR. XD http://chemsys.web.fc2.com/index.html
I'm still figuring this all out, but the stepmania file appears to already be on the description for download, is it a matter of permission or does it have to be converted to FFR form (since it seems that FFR doesn't do the hold down keys like stepmania does)?

Edit: For coSmo, is there a specific song or just anything I can get my hands on?

Edit2: Oh freaking hell that VOCALOID CD looks hot....

FFR does need permission from the artist even if permission was given to use the song however you want.

The stepfile does need to be FFR compatible, meaning that no holds or mines are are used, and there is only 1 stepchart for one difficulty.

The stepfile also can't be publicly shared, although it can be shared privately for testing so you can get feedback on it and make changes before submitting the stepfile.

First of all though, is getting permission from the artist to use that song (or more) on FFR.

Okay, does posting an email/bbs thread showing me asking for permission and permission being granted constitute for this, or do I need to have an FFR staff member (or however you refer to it ) contact the person directly instead?

Yeah, that's the part I'd probably be doing, as I don't play the game enough and haven't looked at the internals of stepfiles to get to that point.

Tass prefers that you forward a translated email of approval to him. You can even find Tass on the home page. XD

It's necessary to put originality into stepfiles. I have an Edit version of the Hatsune Miku no Shositsu (a lot more artistic and precise, in the sense of stepfile form, no meaningless jump jacks... >_>)

coSmo has been contacted regarding permission usage, I await his/her (gender guessing is a horrible thing :S) response and will forward it to Tass if I get approval, or cry in utter defeat if I don't (Though according to his site "song use" section, I should get approval, we'll see). For now, those of you interested can check coSmo's music section for mp3's that you can listen to:

I really hope it does get into FFR, playing that song would be just plain nuts I'd try it and see if I could last 5 seconds

Re: Midday's Japanese Amateur Artist Intro

Next one, stereo-chip. I found him/her while looking over today's vocaloid rankings, and he/she has one instrumental out:

                Homepage (with mp3 zipped): http://www.geocities.jp/stereo_chip/index.html
                Blog: http://ameblo.jp/stereo-chip

which also has a VOCALOID version on NikoNiko Douga:

                http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm3127232

According to the zip file's readme, it's usable as long as you indicate the artist's name in the work (stereo-chip in this case). To be sure I sent him/her a message asking for validation on the permission usage. The music is pretty chill, and it looks like it's the only one he/she has released, but I hope he/she does more (damn gender, I hate you so much -cry-). Also this song seems enough to where I could actually clear whatever step file came of it

Edit Permission approved, sending stuff to Tass

                  livetune

                  AKA kz-livetune / kz

                  homepage: http://livetune.6.dtiblog.com/

                  CD info:

It says there are CD's, but the stores are all sold out, and a restock date is undecided. "Light Song" is, however, included as part of the Debutante (http://sincere.ddo.jp/debutante/) CD to be released at M3. After that, it will probably start trickling to stores and mail order sites for purchase.

                  Videos: http://www.nicovideo.jp/tag/livetune

                  Regarding Permission

Permission is unknown at this point. For now it seems like all livetune's music is on a player on his site, and on NicoNico Douga (occasionally zip files of the MP3's are available).

                  Profile:

livetune's songs have a nice J-Pop kind of feel to them (ie. you're just waiting for Perfume to start singing out of nowhere). One of his most well known songs is "Light Song" (http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm3055567). For vocals, it tends to be the Hatsune Miku, but recently Utawa Sakura started doing vocals for one of livetune's songs (She's best known for her karaoke of "Melt").

                  Most recent song: Saihate (08/04/24 - http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm3088245)

Edit: livetune's album "Reackage" popped up for me on Yahoo Auctions Japan listings, but can't always tell how long that will last.

Livetune is a coop between Kz and Kajyuki. They beat OSTER Project in Vocaloid Night 2. First place.

Also, shiro, take over. Transfer my post onto yours by copy and pasting onto your first post (make sure it's in advanced edit mode, and not in BBCode edit. to change edit options, click the topright A/A icon)

I won't be around much longer. I have to stop FFR for a while, considering that I'm failing my high school junior year, the year of all college applications. I also have 3 concerts, 2 IB tests, and 3 SAT/SAT IIs. Please take over. I'd love to see how this turns out when I come back. I will go on the forums everyday, so you can still ask me to do stuff (limited, but I can help). Changing name to shiro's Japanese Amateur Artist Intro.

I will link your post from my first post after you copy and paste. Hurry please.

                              Regarding Permission

                              Quoted from 403's site:

Basically, he seems to be fine with using the songs as long as you give him credit, and link to his homepage. However, I'll ask for FFR specific permission though. I'll have to see how much of his muzie songs that we could potentially use.

                              Profile:

I'll do a rough translation of his FAQ:

Q1. How do you read "403"?
A1. Please read it Yonmarusan (maru indicates circular in Japanese for those of you wondering). Also, half width digit (403 instead of 403) is official.

Q2. So what exactly is 403?
A2. That's a difficult question! It's the handle name of the admin, the name of the band, and the name of part of the site. The later two are often confused, so decide on one on a case by case basis.

Q3. The person making the music, the person doing track and field, the person doing break dancing and the BBS admin are all different people right?
A3. I get asked this question a lot but, all the content on the site refers to things I have done. The only exception is the person doing Kakutougi (martial arts without the use of weapons).

Q4. I'd like to exchange links..
A4. This home page is link free, and while sites linking here are fine, please note that I will not return links.

Q5. I want to send you an email..
A5.Click the "Mail to Webmaster" link at the bottom of the home page to send an email.

Q6. BBS questions and mail responses are slow
A6. Basically he gets busy like everyone else. Also, if it's anything that's covered in the INTRO, letting him know you listened to his song, or failure to note important points in the Q&A (as well as not reading the Q&A)
, will result in a non response.
