Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 4
So long as I don't have a final exam on December 13th, my plan is to visit him December 11th-14th. (otherwise it'd be the week before)

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 4
Funny enough, that third jump stream section is my weakspot. I get burned out there and for some reason, I can't do the patterns as fluently. |

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 4
quit. this file is absolutely stupid for D7 in my opinion because of the luck involved. have fun everyone else.

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 4
Better choice for D7 than the 10 minute AAAs -- there's nothing in this file that cannot be done physically without cheating. It's a better song choice than a snoozefest jumpstream file that every single player can blast through, and it's not luck, it's skill and control. It also takes visual precision.

Dishevel's trills definitely involved luck because I had to subconsciously translate the trills into 16ths from my taps the entire time. The arbitrary color placement and music screwed me over because both of those combined are too misleading. |

Re: 9th Official Tournament -- Round 4
Dishevel strikes me as the kind of file that is really fun to play casually up until you start being able to reliably SDG it, but absolute hell to whore if you are specifically going for an AAA

Looking at the file in DDream, the color placement isn't arbitrary - the song happens to be complexly quantized in many areas. Changing the BPM for a song for colored improvements is completely subjective and only should be solicited if the stepartist wants to do it. The song is obviously electronically sequenced and everything is synced properly at 210 BPM given that BPM changes aren't required for major song transitions. People can call "luck" for things like that, but the only thing that legitimately should be considered "luck" is something that obviously can't be hit/sustained through physical means (do i smile wall, Husigi Usagi wall, etc). Just because a file is extremely colorful and doesn't use proper quantization doesn't mean that it requires "luck". Let's imply that all players with the ability to read non-quantized rhythms are just lucky! (Hint: they're not -- come on, lol) EDIT: Oh, I was half joking, haha! I can definitely make this group for the sake of the tournament, if others want to be a part of it. <3 |
