Cool yet esoteric stuff from our childhood
Are there cool things from your childhood that you have fond memories of, even if those things weren't super-widely known/popular/etc?
For me, one such example is Beyond the Mind's Eye -- one of the first major displays of early-day CG: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdFfVx-LkN8 I used to watch this all the time when I was younger, and I thought it was especially cool since footage was used from the Lawnmower Man, which was, in my opinion, a great example of early-day CG. Another example might be Stick Stickly... anyone else ever watch his program on Nick back in the day? I still have the address-jingle/song forever lodged in my brain. :O |

Because there are a lot of anime fanboys/girls on here, this may not count as esoteric, but My Neighbor Totoro was THE movie growing up.

My Woody Doll, I was always afraid in the middle of the night him and my other toys would gang up and kill me.

Stickly was my homie.
Until he betrayed me at an early age. I remember I wrote him a letter and sent it, but it was never read on air. Hense my low self esteem and current issues with rejection. Thanks...stickly. Write to me, Stick Stickly, P.O Box 9-6-3, New York City, New York State, 1-0-1...oh EIGHT! Anyways I do miss the 90's, MOAR 90's posts pl0x. |

Re: Cool yet esoteric stuff from our childhood
This was hands down my favorite movie growing up. I played it so much on the VCR that I had to get two more copies of the movie. It was that good. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen that movie in forever. Time to go watch it again.
