I agree with whoever said KBO judges, the KBO files are all pretty fun.

Dragons Fury started as a team here. I had made a forum that was just for the team but after FFR was down for about a month we started to invite everyone we could from FFR over. I wasn't very well known when the site went down except by people from the team so some people I tried telling kinda where like "who the f are you?" Halogen and I did pretty much everything we could to keep people occupied. We started adding some new files to a "custom" engine we had so people had new content to play over the last 10 months and also ran various tourneys and contests over there. File wars was pretty big lol which I will actually probably keep doing over there for the members that still hang out. But basically it was just a little home for any FFR people to hangout at while we waited for this to come back and now it's back :') well not fully yet but still LIFE XD |

Re: ATTN: synthlight
Not quite. According to what I can see, last post for KBO's file review thread was back on July 5. I can say that the judging system is very low key to most people on the site. You tell me what I'm missing please, and what makes KBO's judging system so great. Can't make an opinion if I don't even know what's going on. Submission numbers is also low, which is why Patashu had to create a monetary-driven incentive for people to make easier files for the site. No wonder I don't hear much about reviews, huh? I assume that the judging system is a standard one on KBO, no?

Re: ATTN: synthlight
The judging system is is completely automated. Users submit via a web page form and judges can play embedded on the page. They then accept or reject and leave comments that the artist can see. This system is fairly new and unique.

Re: ATTN: synthlight
Sounds easier being automated. Only thing I want to know is if the embedded file can be slowed down, backtracked, or paused. In SM, you not only have those functionalities, you can specify your comments based on specific measures. Does this automated system have such things to make it easier for a judge to review a file and be specific about it as well?

Re: ATTN: synthlight
It cannot be slowed down, but it can be autoplayed with a progress bar that allows you to backtrack or pause, or it can be set on preview mode which allows the judge to actually play it. Slow-down could be implemented though, no one has actually mentioned that but it is a good idea.
Hm, measures could be added as well. Too bad you didn't suggest this in the KBO thread lol. |

Re: ATTN: synthlight
All submissions including recent ones sent into KBO have been judged, reviewed, rated, etc. it's just the notes have not been posted publicly or rather are not available for non-judges to view. Judges are working "behind the scenes" so to speak so don't assume nothing has actually happened. On the contrary judges are very active and everything sent up to date has been judged and have been labeled accepted or rejected. The file submission progress thread really needs a long overdue update.

Re: ATTN: synthlight
Really what matters is letting the simfile artist and the judges know about submission progress. IMO it doesn't need to be any more public than that. I don't even know if that thread is even needed anymore.

Re: ATTN: synthlight
the new system is way better. everything is posted there and done within seconds for the submitter only to see. love that.

Re: ATTN: synthlight
yeah
when the final judgement of the file is done, judge's comments could be public though. |

Re: ATTN: synthlight
Whyr? No one but the artist needs to know what the comments are.

Re: ATTN: synthlight
But there's also no reason to have to do extra work to make that capability...

Re: ATTN: synthlight
would be too much work to pm them to everyone individually for every file.

Re: ATTN: synthlight
Which is why the submission thread should be updated at the very least. For actual in-depth reviews I guess people could request for them by posting in a submissions discussion thread or something. Then one of the judges could just simply copy and paste whatever notes there are for the file.

Re: ATTN: synthlight
All I really was requesting earlier was some sort of acknowledgment that the judging process was active, and this can be shown simply by making a thread update. Lengthy, measure-to-measure reviews can be made upon request of the individual.
