Competitive or Not

So in light of a recent thread someone said to me that they believe 70 percent of the community doesn't play for the competition, this means they don't play for ranks or tourneys or anything like that, they play just to play. Well I disagree with this statement so I'm putting up a poll to see how many play for the competition and how many people really don't care about rank or anything of that nature.

Just to make sure I clarify

if you play for any of the ranks, achievements or to compete against others your competitive.

If you play just for the enjoyment of playing and nothing more then your the non competitive.

Technically yes because you are competing for rank. Playing for fun literally means you just play because you like playing the game and don't care for the rankings or achievements of the game.

i set my own personal goals, but ive always been interested to attend a tourny. i just like participating in the community.

edit before shit storm about my thread: i do believe in fair play. if someone has sat there and whore'd a song for an hour for an aaa they deserve it. myself, along with many others have done this and the feeling once you obtain the aaa/fc/whatever your goal was is a great feeling. and then you never play that fcking song again.

Right now I pretty much play just to play and get better. I might start doing more tourney's once i get better and feel like it though.

I really don't care about ranks. I'm not gonna play all 1-10s just to prove I'm good at this game. I play FMO/FGO's because they are fun, and if I don't find anything fun (e.g DP, RATO, Chick Habit, or any other dump files), I won't play them.

This is why I have like 5 plays on CP.

Even in tournaments, I never whore songs. It's just fun playing against other players.

If I were to play in a competitive mindset, I will easily lose interest in the game. I'm not a competitive person myself. I like to try and accomplish my own goals and celebrate with others who accomplish theirs.

EDIT: I'm assuming the majority of FFR is competitive itself.

I'm not sure people understand what I mean. I don't mean competitive only with other people. I mean like if you aren't competitive with the game at all you literally don't play for anything other than the enjoyment of smashing keys. No ranks, no achievements none of that.

In that case, I'd fall under competitive. But I'm slowly moving towards the noncompetitive side since most of my goals are achieved.
