Default Looking For a Good 88 Key Synesizer

I have been playing piano for arund 8 years now and am looking for a synthesizer to expand my music creation ability. 88 keys is a must, and preferably around $1,000. To give some basis here I was looking at the Yamaha MM8 or Juno Gi.

Essentially I was just wondering what all you music gurus would recommend as something to start me off on a pathway to more music creation.

I don't know much about 88 key SYNTHS, but I know an alternative could be buying a good 88 key controller, and using virtual synths. But if you want the hardware sound, I guess the Juno would be a good choice. Junos have always had a great sound.

You know.... maybe your right. What setup would I need to get these virtual synths? I mean I understand the concept here, I just am curious as to what I would need.
