If I'm not mistaken, there were other prominent cultures that did the same.

All of these laws share a pretty similar story universally. Some strange, off the wall event occurred involving one of the things in question (giraffes tied to light poles, blue lightbulbs, etc.) which necessitated something being formally outlawed. Generally, this is done solely for something to become "official" and the law has no real purpose, effect, or enforceability. Either that or it's an old, outdated law that lawmakers never bothered removing from the books.

There are other really stupid "facts" in this list that logic will tell you are false, but I can't be bothered to look up examples for them which is why I'm not bringing them up.

Well yeah, the distinction I was trying to make is that "rotating opposite of the way it normally should" and "rotating clockwise" are different. You can't say any 3-dimensional object is rotating clockwise or counterclockwise, because that will change depending on the viewer's perspective.

What you can say is "This object appears to be rotating clockwise when viewed from above" or something like that. But even that fails when you go to scales such as that of space, because "above" and "below" cease to exist.

But whatever, you get the point.
