Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch #1 complete)
I can see merit in both sides of the argument but how I view carlos's argument is like an art gallery (l0l painting analogies all day errday). You can paint gorgeous landscapes or stong emotional pieces, or you can paint the most flawlessly-painted guro hentai. Chances are guro hentai won't be admitted since it's not a something for public viewing (given the premise that they're not looking for shock material that is). However, at some underground art gallery it might be more accepted if that's what they're looking for to showcase there. Guro hentai is to art gallery as Robotomy is to FFR and the underground art gallery could be the equivalent of stepmania packs. Robotomy is a really out there song and while I really dig IDM I can see carlos's point as well.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch #1 complete)
- I think Robotomy in the game would be acceptable in the game. Truth be told, it is a pretty extreme/contemporary attempt at making a challenging file. It's the kind of files that mark a turning point in our game; it's the first of its kind. There might be no other files in the future like this one, or it could spawn an entire sub-genre. Technically, the file is 100% coherent and represents perfection. In all honesty, I don't believe it deserves the red carpet treatment by getting scores of 9 or such. For one, not everyone will embrace this file, and I'd be surprised if anyone would think otherwise. While it is arguably a perfect file, it is very raw and hard to apprehend in a game that's often about sight-reading and pick-up and play in style. Right now, it is a misfit, there is no way around it. For those reasons, I believe the file should borderline-pass; it is good, but it is also a black sheep. Hence, it should be accepted with a grain of salt. The score it gets in the end doesn't matter if it gets released anyway (I don't think choof was looking for SAP when making this, even though I could be wrong).
- I think it's not unfair if, even though you worked hard on a file, it doesn't get accepted right away. Sometimes, the timing has to be right. The mindset of the players must be in tune with what you are providing. See what happened to my Stress - xKore file; I stepped it and sent it in 2011 over FFR, Thirdstyle and even Dragons Fury, where it got rejected on all fronts, saying it was a counter-intuitive file that demanded memorization, something that went against the way the game was meant to be played. I worked super hard on the file, and it's just sitting there in my folders and in the Fall 2011 community pack. My pinky says someone will contact me to make it see the light of day again (actually it's happening), though, and that is why I think it is not a big deal if you get rejected the first or second or third time when you send something. Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch #1 complete)
You can try, but I'm not sure most "general public" art galleries would see them as approprite, e.g.,

If you're going to send in an easier Slashmaid for the rape version, just pls don't make it too easy.

Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v2 (Batch #1 complete)
It's probably too late for this, but can I send in a revision of Bubble Bath Aftermath with a little more layering outside of the funky solo to improve difficulty consistency?
...And make the file even more awkward?
