Touhou

Okay, I made a thread for this earlier, but it was bad and I had no clue, so please don't lock.

So, Touhou games are a series of a bunch of shmups. 1 in the series of 11 is a fighting game, with emphasis on projectiles, and in one you actually take pictures of the patterns. Also, there are a few fan games, including a mario clone, a megaman clone, and a soccer game, with amazing videos.

The games are not very hard to clear (no matter what you think, they aren't), so peolpe go for scoring. And let me tell you, the people who score well are REDICULOUS. The characters are actually very well developed for a shmup, they all have personality, some actually develop. The patterns are pretty and deadly, and you might develop a fear of butterflies.

If you do get these games (try bemaniso, or buy them from paletweb or himeya or something), I reccomend starting with Perfect Cherry Blossom, then Imperishable Night. The other ones are fun, but Phantasmagoria of Flower View is very hit and miss, and Embodiment of Scarlet Devil is lower quality, being the first pc game.

I played Imperishable Night awhile ago, good fun. Never tried the other, though.
