![]() I've been very curious about this, please post comments.
Proof: Any number / Infinity = Zero -- because anything divided by infinity will be infinitely small or zero. Therefore Infinity * Zero = Infinity -- when you put infinity on the other side.

![]() not how it works... you can't just multiply through by infinity. infinity over infinity is not one, it is still zero. therefore 0 = 0, no matter what.

Infinity/infinity is undefined, just like 0/0 so is infinity * 0 discussion over ps, talis: infinity/infinity is DEFINITELY not 0, rofl

![]() As Shash stated, infinite * 0 is undefined, as is infinite * infinite and 0 * 0.
Isn't infinite * -infinite = -infinite ? Someone verify this please. You can also look at limits. lim n->infinite { c over n } = 0. Now, consider lim n->infinite { n (c over n^2)}, lim n->infinite { n (c over n)}, and lim n->infinite { n^2 (c over n)}. Let c be a constant. To solve these, use L'Hopital's rule or other limit evaluation methods.

![]() inifinity isn't really a number. it's more of a concept of the number line never ending.

![]() Infinity is the amount of possible numbers.

![]() Also, it's a possibility that the TI-89 is incorrect but it says the following:
0^inf= 0 1^inf= 1

TI-89 is wrong if it says that, although I'd like to check it out on mine...you're using the actual infinity key, right?

what
It doesn't matter how many times you multiply one by one, you'll still get one. At no point in the number line does 1^x go OH HEY I'M GOING TO DEVIATE AND BE SIXTY THREE Same with zero. ur rong

![]() Yes, I'm using the actual infinity key, and I thought so RandomPscho.
As long as X is greater than or equal to 0 that should be the case.
