etanimod
And those are really easy. The first one was simply annoying to solve, not to find how to do it. |

Re: Rnfl qrpelcgvba punyyratr: MrRubix's 10-stage Crypto Challenge. New riddle each
So simple that I couldn't figure out for long.. Nice job, emerald.
Just to show I figured out something as well :P Code:
the answer is right under your nose. first word is dom. next word is inate. fuse the words. then reverse the new word. write answer in thread. |

We all started stupid. It is by doing more and more of them that you begin to know "classics" and you can associate the corresponding cipher. Like, in this one, the fact that there are a lot of numbers inside the words gave it away for me.

Re: Rnfl qrpelcgvba punyyratr: MrRubix's 10-stage Crypto Challenge. New riddle each
Here's what I did.
I first tried typing it in dvorak, and then tried applying rot1~25. Since neither worked, I tried traditional switching method for the first three lines character by character, and got stuck right after that, until I saw the keyboard 30 minutes later. lol |

ITT: Guessing words cyphered with a random algorithm using random search through known cyphers.
Is it supposed to be fun? If you have fun doing this, then maybe I'll just throw in a 10-character long 1024-bit RSA cyphered word and wait for anyone to come up with the original word. It's definitely possible but would probably take 532546989 years if you are lucky. |

Re: Rnfl qrpelcgvba punyyratr: MrRubix's 10-stage Crypto Challenge. New riddle each
It isn't random if you pay attention to what the cipher looks like.
The whole point of cryptography is to rationalize out patterns. Like Emerald said, the numbers are almost a dead giveaway. Even if you had no idea how to do #2, there is a well known approach you could apply to the first sentence, and that sentence would help you get the rest -- the numbers too are a dead giveaway, especially when compared to the other sentences. tldr: Learn to problemsolve :P
