Default The Dark Knight Rises

Such a letdown. The song/dance number with Bane was too much for me. Also so disrespectful that they re-used Heath Ledger’s Joker footage.

My evening is ruined, gg spoiler tags.

But oh well, RT gave it a pretty good review and I generally agree with them. I'll update this post with my personal thoughts when I get back. (8pm showing, 4 hours before my friend who's been waiting with a raging bat-boner)

Ok so rubix is trolling, there's no musical number with Bane and the Joker doesn't show up a single time in the movie.

That said, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Although it kinda moved too quickly in the beginning and introduced too many new characters.

I'm mad that Catwoman isn't actually Catwoman. And I'm also mad that...
Now we have to wait for a Robin movie UGGGGGGGGGGGGH

It was meant to be an ostensible joke... ackk. I need to make more ridiculous examples I guess.

Anyhow, the movie was good, but not as good as TDK imo. Too much narrative pulled from Knightfall, which made the entire movie uber-predictable when you consider its context. Anne Hathaway and JGL were fantastic though.

Anne Hathaway's outfit wasn't revealing enough.

I loved it. I'm not as smart as Rubix so I wasn't able to predict anything.

In the moment it was good, but the hour involving car ride home, and a snack at home after revealed the massive plot holes that ruin this movie. The Dark Knight is much better, in my opinion, but this movie is definitely worth viewing.

I found it very good. A [+] in FFRspeak But TDK was much better, although that's not a fair comparison since that had the Joker and all. And there were some lingering issues/plot holes that irk me, although the great parts of the film were good enough to offset that. I loved it.

(Read the next bit only if you've seen the film)

Although I wish Nolan'd worked the ending scene at the cafe in Paris the same way he did in Inception's ending., i.e. not shown Wayne at the cafe at all. That would've been A+, though this is just a personal bugbear

The only part that I disliked is how Bane died in the movie. A simple gunshot... really? I think it was a little rushed at the end but the movie was already long enough. It was good overall.

I also hate what the "bat-airplane" looked like. It's like a flying piece of rubbish. They could have designed it better.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie. It was well done overall. (:

Although this is 98% off-topic, while trolling World Chat on my private WoW server I've sturred up quite a commotion by telling people that "A radio station gave a guy 5 tickets to The Dark Knight to have sex with a male goat"

Don't ask me why it was just the first stupid thing to pop into my head.
So I log back on today and that's all they were talking about.
lol?

I literally was one of the few people that
knew that the cop was robin
by like the second scene. Everyone else in the theater, even in my group of 8 friends that went with me had no clue until the end when they spoonfed it to everyone, and everyone herped and derped audibly.

If anyone knows anything at all about the original Batman story, it would have been a giveaway after one of the first few lines he said. Infuriating that that many people couldn't predict something THAT obvious, IMO.

I said the exact same thing coming out of the theater, and regarding what I said above, the fact that character exists in this movie implies already that
Bruce Wayne didn't die
, meaning they should have done what you said.

Yep, agreed.

Too lazy to use spoiler tags so watch out, guys.

It annoyed me at how obvious Nolan has gotten with his foreshadowing. It's like with Inception... did ANYONE act surprised at all when Cobb "revealed" that he performed inception on his late wife? It was so overly obvious that by the time the reveal came, everyone was like, "Wait, I thought we already knew that?"

Same applies here to TDKR. The convo Alfred has with Bruce near the start about his "dream" of seeing Bruce in a cafe with a loved one? That just totally gives away the ending as an obviously blatant foreshadowing and it really bugged me. It tells you pretty much right there that Bruce won't die in the end, and it also confirms that Blake = Robin.

Aaghhhh.

Hollywood storytelling is aimed at the herp-derpedest of the human species. (lately, so are AAA video game stories, lmfao at how bad Diablo 3 was for example)
Honestly you expect a subtle, nuanced plot reveal in a blockbuster movie? lol go read a book

Using the bat in the city would have been tricky if it wasn't anything but a tactical VTOL. A regular fighter jet would be almost impossible to maneuver in the constraints of the city. I personally loved the design.

How Bane died was... funny rofl.

The instant I saw that cop, I leaned over to my brother and said "hey look, Robin" as a bit of a joke. Turns out I was right hehe.

I am surprised more people don't figure out that Batman is Bruce Wayne

I mean, who else is going to be able to afford crazy-ass technology like the Bat? That alone narrows the search down pretty considerably.
