The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (side-episode)

An 11 players setup with a LOT of flavour (based on the first Trails of Cold Steel game), with only power roles.

Most of these roles are going to be slightly tweaked for the sake of balance.

Game info:

- Game starts on N1.
- Merlin cannot be killed on N1. Can be targeted otherwise.
- “No Lynch” is ON, but only IF the Jailor is alive. Also, until the jailor is removed from the game, lynches MUST be insta. "Having the most votes" will not result in a lynch.
- If the Jailor is removed from the game, insta is ON and knife in the box is ON as well.
- Out of thread communication (outside of specific role perks) is forbidden.
- 48 hours day phases, 24 hours night phases.
- Failure to commit to some role duties may result in modkills.
- Fake claiming, even pretending to follow host and role instructions, is a legal move.
- Minimum posting will be enforced (no less than ~5 game relevant posts per day)
- All 3 scum-aligned players can use their powers during the night, including the one performing the kill.
- Scum-aligned players can stack powers onto the same target.
- The nightkiller can only use his skill onto the person he is killing.

Win conditions:
- Town wins if all scum are removed from the game (or nothing can prevent it)
- Scum wins if the merlin is taken down
- Lover wins if they are alive with their partner at the end of the game

On top of all this, I will roleplay as one of the characters from the game, and write up events happening in the game in the form of a fan fiction.

TOWN PR:

The Unique Vigilante: You are given a very unique revolver. At the start of this game, I will give you one shot with a pre-determined bullet that you will be aware of. At night, You will be given an opportunity to decide whether to fire, or to reload. If you choose fire, you may select a target and fire upon them. If you choose reload, I will spin a wheel and you will be given a new bullet with a random ability, however you will not be able to fire until the following night. The abilities are as follows:

Kill one target
Protect one target
Warp Time (You do not have to select a target, just inform me if you wish to fire. This bullet shortens the day phase by half)
Gun Pass (You are no longer the Unique Vigilante, and whoever you shoot will become the Unique Vigilante)
Identity (allows you to see the alignment of the selected target)
Teleportation (Allows you to teleport two targets, or yourself and one other target)

Note: Teleportation is a one shot Bus Driver

Once the vigilante has fired their bullet, a new bullet shall be assigned at random

If the Vigilante is lynched during the day, a new owner and bullet shall be spun at random, and they will be informed during the night

NOTE: To keep things simple, if the Vigilante is town, and uses Gun Pass, they will flip as Vanilla Town. If they are wolf, they will flip as their assigned wolf role.

Wolves:
1 Master Wolf- If you are shot with the identity bullet, the vigilante will see you as green
1 Wolf Roleblocker- Each night, you will be given an opportunity to stop the actions of the vigilante. You cannot select the same person more than once night in a row

It's my first time submitting a game and I've been asking people (mainly sunfan) to help with fine tuning the roles so that they don't make the game inherently swingy towards any of the factions. I didn't expect this tweaking to affect what was included in the game submissions, but here what role tweaking has affected:

- The game is no longer a N1 start (just a regular D1 start), it just isn't necessary anymore and I think everyone will be cool with this last minute change even though voting has already started
- By extension, the N1 invincibility thing no longer applies, but that shouldn't have been in the game proposal to begin with, imo.

Sorry about that, I know it's bad etiquette, but I'm trying my best to propose something cool

I hope H&H knows I love him and mean no disrespect to his game but it blows my mind we didn't even get enough players for a 5 person game for two months and everyone is still insistent on voting for the game that requires the most players and attention like

IDK I don't want to be that negative shithead right now but come on we are not getting 11 players to do this

it's k my dawg we can recruit more people and bring back the glory from the good ol' days. Ok maybe not lol but who knows

I've already been asking around to some newbies that have played this elsewhere if they'd like to play, I'm sure we can make it work out if people want to play it

online TWG kinda died everywhere all at once and it makes me sad but also I don't know why it happened to literally every internet place

maybe the social deduction generation is aging out of the game and the zoomers don't have the gumption for it idk

The forums are also generally less active, and we should really advertise these games on the FFR discord to be honest. Hell, I think it's insane we don't have a TWG channel on the FFR discord server, lol.

I wonder, considering the age demographic, if Facebook of all places would be a good place for recruitment

I suppose first if other sites are also having this problem we should probably try and merge communities already playing, though

I am interested in seeing the issue addressed, I also just don't really know how to proceed/I don't think I'd be a good ambassador anyway

I definitely think this is a good idea. I'm actually an admin for an older FFR Facebook page (I don't really recall how the hell that happened but arch0wl was the main guy posting in it, it's not the official page though). I could drop a post in there and see if anyone sees it.

Also, I dunno if the younger folks aren't "the right demographics". They might not have ever considered joining a game or hell, even know what "TWG" refers to. I would have never joined a game if it wasn't for Haku telling me what it is all about, and I assume that applies to the newer generation of players as well. Some people are bound to be interested.

I haven't been on FFR TWG a whole lot and I'm not aware of what this referring to, but if this is a shared concern I definitely think this should be addressed too
