Question for FFR/SM players
When you play with freshly cut fingernails, do your fingers bleed? I hate playing with nails since they get stuck between the keyboard when I'm playing spread or on top of my fingers if I'm playing index, but when I cut them they start to bleed when I play for a bit. Then, they become numb so that I can't feel the keys, which is really annoying, especially if I'm playing index or going for AAAs. Does anyone else have this problem?

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
Unless you use the surface of the nails to hit the buttons I can't understand how you can hurt yourself playing, in any case try to use the fingertip to press the buttons

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
First time I've heard that. Never had that sort of problem before and I usually play with cut fingernails for long periods of time(at least SM that is).

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
it happened to me when i played index, but hasnt happened since i switched to spread, and it was like bleeding a lot, just like the skin under the nail peeled off and was exposed. some bleeding happened

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
Try playing with the flat side of your fingers instead of the upper side, it should do it

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
playing index with the pads of your fingers tips is a lot harder. because then you have to reach over the other finger for certain patterns.

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
I only play spread but usually if my nails are long I will stop playing and cut my nails. Stepmania keeps my nails short XD
try to avoid hitting your keyboard with your nails

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
When I play spread, it's not as bad, but when i play index, it's guaranteed to happen. You can't really avoid hitting by the nail with index.

I tear off my fingernails using my other fingernails
(I end up with one long fingernail and nine short ones) |

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
Are you pressing the keys really hard or something? I've played index my whole life and this has never happened.

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
My fingers only bleed when I cut them way too short to where it hurts. Try not cutting them as short as you normally do, see if that helps.

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
I play even with my fingernails long or short really. I've been using my nails to play SM for a while now, I don't have any bleeding whatsoever.

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
if you're bleeding playing sm it usually means you're keysmashing too hard/doing it wrong

Re: Question for FFR/SM players
Only happens if I cut my nails in too deep (and everyone knows how hard I tap my keyboard, lmao).
