Aquatopia (Original Mix) WIP -- Feedback needed
Finished: http://www.tindeck.com/listen/qehv
I'm preparing an EP soon, which is going to feature a few mixes/remixes of this song. This is, I believe, the 9th mix of this song I've made so far, and this is going to be the last. I really need criticism on this. Every single thing you guys can pick apart about this song, in any aspect, I'd really appreciate hearing and trying to fix. I've been told already that the intro is a bit long by KgZ, which I'll be working on soon. But seriously, please let me know what you think of this, positive and negative.

I liked it for the most part, it just seemed too... Windows Welcome Musicy at that start, in the sence that it takes forever for anything interesting to happen. I know you know that already, but really thats the only thing. For realz. I love the end!

Re: Aquatopia (Original Mix) WIP -- Feedback needed
Ok, first I listened to it through my laptop speakers, and I thought to myself... this isn't going anywhere and I'm only hearing 2 chord changes. Then I listened to it through my headphones, and yey! Bass! I liked the intro, but it didn't break into much, and there are still only two chords. I think it would be pretty nifty if there were lyrics with this song, just to give it something else? To me it's a good backing track for something, but it's a tad monotonous... unless that's what you were going for.
I'm halfway through the track right now, I like how it's changed, unless the first half of the track was just the intro, then yes it is to long. But to me it still sounds like a backing track, a little less when the second melody kicks in, but it's got potential for lyrics. But the two chords is still bugging me... and now it just stopped. I was just getting into that. ): Eh. P.S. It was pretty damn good. Last edited by Sgtzombie.; 02-9-2009 at 07:29 AM.. |

The song is built off of two chords, that's not really unusual for a trance track, especially the section before the breakdown.
I never really considered changing up the chords.. I might be able to once the piano melody comes in, which could be interesting. Thanks |

the second half of the song was amazing. i would personally take out the first minute or so of the song so you dont have to wait as long for the epic ending. i absolutely LOVED those snare rolls(not sure if thats what they're called). I would of liked to hear maybe one or two more but you had them in the right places so i dont know if adding an extra would help the song or not.
overall it was a strong piece. once you go back and fix it up a little, ill download |

Alright, thanks
Just wondering.. I think you've heard other versions of this, and if you have, do you think the melody I used to end the song with would be a better alternative to this ending? |
