Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
That black-out was a ****ing bitch. Here I am expecting something at least as useful as Goldeen or Wabbuffet, but instead I get blacked-out and the computer sees perfectly fine. Fortunately the black-out was pretty rare whenever I got Togepi. I usually just got the bright light that put people to sleep.
The Nintendog seems MUCH better because you can see the sides of the screen and you might get time to recover. But I wonder--how will it be "called upon"? Will you pick up a bone and it will just come to the screen?

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Oh, yeah, I will agree RPG's are pretty low for Nintendo home consoles. Oh well, I'm personally not into them much (minus SRPG's and REALLY good RPG's).
And as for "hardcore genres", hahaha, as long as the generic FPS, GTA, and Final Fantasy crowds dominates mainstream gaming, good luck with that. Downloading games would allow for you to buy classic shmups and such. As for anything new... unfortunately, no. For any console. Last one I can recall is Geometry Wars for Xbox 360.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Uh, new shmups, 2d fighters, and such are still being produced. Guilty Gear XX Slash came out a few days ago.
Ibara is probably the newest top-class shmup right now, and it came out about two months ago. And music games are obviously going stronger than ever. I'm sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about. |

I wonder which of the three "next-gen" consoles people really want to see the most. Wow guys it's a shame to admit but it looks like the Wii is going to fail =( ~Squeek |

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Hmm, I think it's more about people being curious about what it's all about than anything. Remember the controller was pretty hyped up, and it's a very different and new experience for pretty much everyone. On the other hand, the PS3 controller is just a PS2 controller with motion sensing capabilities. Booooorrring.
Oh, and wow. Check out the poll on GFAQs. I'm pretty suprised: The Wii is winning by a noticable margin. The people who want only a Wii take up 28% of the poll, and the people who want a Wii, both with another and without another system, take over 55% of the poll. Maybe the Wii will do better than I realized. Of course, the people taking the poll are people who talk about video games on the Internet, to say it's going to be very close to what actually happens is another story.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
After a qiuck "poll" of some of my "hardcore" video game friends at school,
it seemed that a bunch of people were excited about the Wii compared to other systems, and almost all of them practically jumped for joy at any mention of Solid Snake and Metaknight. No one knew who Pit was ='( . But alot of the "normal" people i talked to said "f*ck Nintendo" or something similar. They're all hyped up about the PS3. I don't see how they can see it not failing. They even said that the price tag wouldn't change anything.

Re: The Revolution (Wii) is Here.
Okay, the difference between me getting a used PS2 and a Wii all depends on the price of SNES/N64/Genisis games through the online service. Does anyone have ANY speculation on how much these will cost? I, unfortunately, being the ignorant person I was back then, was isolated from some extremely legendary games that came out on these systems >__< I'm just hoping Nintendo isn't going to make this like the classic games they brought to the GBA. Talk about overpriced.
I'm also assuming most people will be trading in their PS2s to get a PS3 because of the large price tag that thing posseses, which probably means used PS2s will drop in price a lot. The old bulky design currently cost $100, and I'm expecting at most $80; hoping for $70.

OMG Sony is not going to fail despite what bs Squeek says. Now it all comes down to if Blue-Ray will actually succeed or not.
