An Appeal To Reason
First of all, I can't see what any of you people withdrawing your signups and whatnot would accomplish. By refusing to play and knowing the limited numbers here, you make it impossible for anyone to play. congratulations. And if you should succeed in playing a game without tass, either by having whorli sign up first or by convincing him to drop out (unlikely), then what happens? You prove the point that everyone already knows: that TWG can exist without tass.
If your goal is to somehow force tass to change his behavior, then I wish you the best of luck, because I doubt you'll make much headway, especially feeding his ego by refusing to play just because of him only. If, however, and I suspect this is what most of you would argue, you merely just don't want to play with someone because you dislike their personality, then there's very little I or anyone can say about it. You have a right not to play. But consider why you're really sitting out. You don't like the fact that he brags. Does anyone? You don't like the fact that he exploited an unfair hole in the rules. Deal with it. That hole has been patched now. You don't like how he won't even acknowledge that the hole was unfair. So? Let that be his problem. There's a solution to this problem beyond being a dick and canceling the game for everyone: it's called IGNORE HIM. STOP CARING about the way he plays. Focus on the content of his posts, not his attitude. You don't have to be friends with him to play with him. Treat him like what he is... just another guy on the internet. --- I assumed writing this that the reason you're dropping out is because tass signed up... if it's not, then this obviously doesn't apply to you. @chardish, waiting 24 hours will do nothing to calm down people who aren't really riled up, but smug, content with the knowledge that they're holding the ultimate trump card: their participation. Might as well start the discussion now. |

RE: An Appeal To Reason
My goal is to not have to deal with his behavior at all by simply not playing with him. I have other places to play this game, like a0.com, where it's fun.
EDIT: I am not trying to change him at all. I'm just trying to simply play a game where I can have fun, and if Tass is playing and acting the way he usually does that doesn't happen. My conclusion: if tass is playing I don't have to play. |

Thanks, guys. I didn't actually want to play or anything, but I appreciate y'all making sure I can't.
talisman really hit the nail on the head. If you don't want to read everything, just pay attention to anything in caps or in the second paragraph. --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

LD: It's more fun playing over there than here. Plus, a0.com TWG is still in its first stages. It will get more active over time. I know people who have really wanted to play and just missed the sign ups. Some people that signed up shouldn't have.

kilga, I'm dissappointed in you... you know how immature what you're doing is, you know that I'm right, yet you persist in your little power trip.

RE: Re: An Appeal To Reason
Well, of course.
This topic is the equivalent of having a losing position in chess and asking your opponent to move his queen so your knight can take it with no bad repercussions. I know we've "won", and all your talking isn't going to get me to change my mind, nor will it change the minds of anyone else on eb's side. Maturity is rather irrelevant - you play to win the game. I suggest getting to work on Tass instead, since one person should be far easier to work with than four or five.

You seriously can't get over a PERSONALITY issue that can easily be ignored?

RE: Re: An Appeal To Reason
Speaking of ignoring, I don't see why you can't just ignore us and restart signups or something. This time, we just won't sign up at all - until Tass or whorli gets in - instead of signing up and dropping out later. Would that make it any better?

Which suggest to me that you know that you're being childish... yet this confuses me because you persist in that behavior.
And you know why I can't ignore you people... without you the game dies, and I like playing it. About restarting the game... clearly this can't happen until Jursey figures out a way to cut it in half. I doubt we would have gotten 18 in the first place. |

RE: Re: An Appeal To Reason
Oh yes, call me childish. That's a brilliant way to get me to agree with you!
My apologies that I don't feel obligated to answer to you, but...I don't.

RE: Re: An Appeal To Reason
We're being childish by simply saying we're not going to deal with something anymore? Oh okay, so instead of taking the "immature approach" of walking away we should've whined for pages about how Tass signed up. You're absolutely right that we did the most immature thing possible in this situation. I couldn't think of anything more immature than simply walking away.

RE: Re: An Appeal To Reason
In my mind, the childishness comes from taking your own personal issues and ruining the game for everyone... if you have a beef with tass, you have a beef with tass. Don't make it so that it's impossible for everyone to play.
And of course there are things more immature than walking away... my point is that there are things more MATURE than walking away as well. Kilga, what can I do to convince you? TWG at ffr is the best it gets, from what I can see, amongst all the bemani sites. Do you want it to die? Can't you just put your personal feelings aside and play the game? |

RE: Re: An Appeal To Reason
LD....nevermind.
Uh, guys, how about you try to convince Tass to let whorli play in this game instead of him. Then we could have her instead and all of you. In other words, I really want to host a game, and you're all ruining it. -_-

RE: Re: An Appeal To Reason
Last game I got extremely angry. I was very very very very pissed at Tass. There have been other games where I get extremely mad because of things he's done. I put this last TWG completely out of my mind because now all I can remember is that everything Tass did just made me more and more angry. I can't even remember the specifics of what happened, and I didn't even read the rest of the game after I died. I don't want to remember that TWG, because I know it will just piss me off again.
Even when Tass is on my side, he makes me angry. The things he does, the way he acts, how he gets things accomplished, everything. He just pisses me off when we play TWG together. This last game, though, just got crazy for me. I don't ever want to be that mad again. I don't play TWG to get furious at somebody. I'm a fairly easy-going person, but he just rubs me the wrong way, and I don't like being angry. So, I made a public statement saying that I wouldn't play with him again, just so you'd all understand when I pulled out. I never expected him to sit out because of me. I never expected anybody else to withdraw from the game, either. Some of you may think this was some organized movement, but it wasn't. The only person I talked to about it and kinda urged to follow was Afrobean, because we've always got each other's backs and I kinda didn't wanna be alone, so we could play jTWG together. I wasn't really planning on anything like this happening. I figured TWG would go on normally and I would just play jTWG until Whorli gets in before Tass one time. I know I can't change Tass's behavior. I know I can't make him quit playing TWG. I know that in the end, this will just be one tiny lil thing in FFR TWG history. At least, I thought that at first. I just wanna be able to play the game and have fun, so I'll stick to games that don't have people that anger me in them.
