Default So, I got this big envelope in the mail...

Explaining how I have been selected to go to the National Young Leaders State Conference in Ohio to prepare myself and others my age for opportunities in the future. Because it seems some people want the most academic students to recieve help in finding their true academic potential and be able to have a successful life.

Four days of educational activities to help leadership, friendship among others you work with, and just things associated with goals and skills to help in our later years. This will help because I may be incredibly intelligent, but the kinds of activies should help me improve what I don't fully excel at.

I got an envelope in the mail saying I had already won $1,000,000.

It was a dirty liar.

I've gotten this like every year during highschool. It's a bunch of bull****, and it costs like 4000 dollars to do. It's a scam.

I got something like that too that asked for $5,000 to go somewhere to learn all this stuff. If they want money theyre usually not worth it. I got a letter once that asked me to write down about myself and that i would get in this book. That one turned out to be true so my name is in Who's Who Among America's High School Students ><

Rofl, this kid in like half of my classes got it. He's a rich little bastard and he's going to it. I despise people who are rich and cannot understand the value of something. The funny thing is, my GPA averages like .3 over his. I rock out lower-middle class.

i got one that said i was one of 50 people in Florida to be able to go to the White House and talk to the people there, and that the trip was going to be paid for by them. the only problem was that when i went to go get my ticket the person said "That will be $8000 please", so don't trust them it's a SCAM!

I got one recently to become a tech emissary to China. It only cost $8,000!

Needless to say I jumped at the chance

to throw it in the shredder. Dear god I love the sounds that thing makes.

I found the cost for the trip. Transportation not included there or back since it's only a few hours away.
Cost : $1400 : Covers: Hotel, breakfast, lunch, dinner for four days.

Wow. You guys get screwed with how much those things cost. I can go to Europe for a week, food included ~$2000. All inclusive in the Dominical Republic (Free food/alcohol) for ~$1800.

And that's Candian money, so it's like twenty bucks American.

I got a letter when I was 14. It told me that I was chosen to participate in the People to People Sports Ambassador competition in Sydney, Australia to play baseball. I couldn't go because I didn't have the kind of money they were looking for. Basically, a coach I played for nominated me.

Yeah, there are plenty of things out there that will help your rep. in school and life, and then there are the scams that do nothing for you in return for your money. I've actually been involved with People to People Student Ambassador Program for the last two years as we went to Australia and Europe. It was a great opportunity and I'm grateful for it. My name is also in Who's Who Among American High School Students as well. Ive got several colleges inerested in me at this point as well. things are going well and it's good to hear that some of you guys are as well.
