Rottel-da-Station [10 or 11]
Continuation from a discussion in the Novo Mundo difficulty thread.
IMO it's an 11 because of the intro, awkward sandwiches, and awkard split patterns.

Agreed leave it alone. You stated the reasoning I would use but also add in those 32nds, that while easily bsed takes a few tries to nail.

Definetely an 11, if not for the actual difficulty of the file (which is worthy of 11 on its own imo) then for how easy it is to get mindblocked on it.

11, no doubt. I can hardly fc the song and my best pa is 30ish goods, but then again maybe it's me sucking at the particular song. The reasoning from razor and middie is enough to have this stay as an 11. (And since when is rottel considered a borderline file? Lmao)

Re: Rottel-da-Station [10 or 11]
I say either way, but it's too easy to get mindblocked on, the intro is stupid hard, and it's what most people use for Oni.

Re: Rottel-da-Station [10 or 11]
I'm on the 10 side for Rottel-Da-Station. There are some higher end VCs that push a really high pace, and some of them push dense streams in them too.
Remember, while everyone might have issues with the introduction of R-D-S, many people mention it to be problematic due to poor muscle memory (e.g. mindblock). Rottel's (objectively) hardest section comes after the ad-libitum section, where you see a [14] 232 [14] 323 [14] 232 [14] [23] [14] [23] [24]. At 200 BPM, this pattern is definitely tricky. It's only one measure long though. Outside of that, Rottel has a few occasional 32nd bursts (12341234, or 13241324, both are short), and mostly 8th notes. Songs like Lunar Saturation and Garyoutensei hold a much higher density and overall tougher chart structure than Rottel does. |

That intro makes it an 11, there's some other 11-worthy patterns in there too.
