Re: Shopping for a motorcycle
You've gotten a 3000gt at 185mph. I highly doubt that.
car at 150mph = stable. bike at 150mph = wind will **** you up.

Re: Shopping for a motorcycle
Dude, it's completely believeable. I've even had my stock '96 Neon to about 120mph.
Pretty sure a Twin Turbo 3000gt can go a fair amount faster...

120mph is not even close to 185mph. So a 20 year old car is faster than a 90,000 dollar porsche 911 carerra S?

Re: Shopping for a motorcycle
My point was that if my terrible little car can do 120, his MODIFIED 3000gt can do 185mph. I guarantee ds has done some work to it.
And yes, 20 year old cars can be faster that a Porsche with some upgrades. By the way, the top speed for a 3000gt is about 155mph and that's electronically limited. An extra 30mph with some modification wouldn't be too hard to accomplish.

Re: Shopping for a motorcycle
Whatever, guys.
DS, as long as you're well-educated about the risks and you know how to routinely check your parts and ensure that everything's up to snuff, and you're well aware of riding safety protocols/rules/guidelines, you should be just fine as long as you're not hot-dogging it doing stupid **** that will get you killed. Even I've ridden 1200cc's. 1200cc cruisers are possible to learn on but it'll be heavy and awkward... a 1200cc sports rider is just lmfao you're going to hurt yourself. For someone like you, I would go with the 1000cc. 750cc will bore you after a while, especially if you have prior racing experience.

My brother had a 1987 180sx, it probably did about 140 with a swapped engine, custom exhaust, and a lot of other parts. But he loves drifting, so he didn't care that much about speed. He could've gone 90 MPH in 5 seconds. |

Re: Shopping for a motorcycle
not really, you just need really good and fast shift timing, with a load of turbo.
My brother was running the stock turbo too, which I believe is at 7 PSI He showed me this when some pussy truck wanted to race, and he lost pretty bad, he couldn't even keep up. |

Re: Shopping for a motorcycle
^ this
7psi will not get you anywhere fast. Especially with 2 people in the car...and a stock turbo at that. I've put around 8-10k into my car, I've beaten z06's, Vipers, you name it, (lost to a Ferrari Modena, and an extremely tuned STI, that is all) and there's no way in hell I could hit 90 in 5 seconds. |
